How to launch your token in 5 minutes and without investment. And also catch an airdrop
The expert spoke about the platform on which you can launch your token
Today, creating your own cryptocurrency is quite simple; it does not require large investments or programming skills. We'll tell you which platform will help you issue a coin and how you can make money on it
I do not give investment advice, the material is published for informational purposes only. Cryptocurrency is a volatile asset that can lead to financial losses.
Every day, hundreds and even thousands of meme tokens appear on the crypto market. Most of them get no coverage and immediately fall to zero. But sometimes a coin shoots up: it rises in price a thousand times in a matter of days and brings millions of dollars in profit to its creators, insiders and lucky traders.
One recent example is the MOTHER token, created in honor of Australian singer Iggy Azalea. The coin was launched on the Solana network at the end of May and has since risen in price hundreds of times. During listing on the decentralized exchange Raydium, it was possible to buy MOTHER for approximately $0.0005, at the moment the price rose to $0.24, at the time of publication (July 8, 2024) the asset costs $0.03.
This growth has brought enormous benefits to some traders. For example, one user turned $900 into over $600K by being one of the first to buy MOTHER tokens and selling them a few hours after listing. Another trader, who also invested in MOTHER immediately after listing, earned about $9 million by investing only $3 thousand.
In this material, we will look at where it is best to launch your own token, what is important for its success, and how you can get a bonus in the form of an airdrop.
On which platform should the token be issued?
There are many platforms for issuing tokens. But we will look at one specific one - Pump.Fun, and there are several reasons for this:
Cheapness. Pump.Fun runs on the Solana blockchain, which has low fees. Issue of a token on this platform costs approximately $3. And that's all you have to pay to create your own coin.
Additionally, if the token you create is not successful, you can abort the attempt with little to no loss. Once you buy your coin first, you can sell it on the platform itself and get back your investment.
Possible airdrop. The project developers did not directly announce the distribution of the token in the future. However, the coin itself will come sooner or later, this is written in the first message in the official Pump.Fun channel in Discord.
Protection from insiders and fraudsters. Many users are hunting for new tokens in hopes of catching a rise of thousands of percent. It turns out that only a few people do this, but there are such cases.
However, such luck is very rare. Most often, the hunt for new tokens leads to losses, and the culprit is usually insiders and scammers. The latter create hundreds of tokens per hour on various networks, including Solana and in particular on the Pump.Fun platform. However, the latter has fewer of them due to the limited programming capabilities of the token.
For example, fraudsters, having issued a token, may reserve the right to disable the ability to sell it at any time. Or introduce a 99% “tax” on the sale of a coin. Or send some of the coins to your third-party wallets and then suddenly dump all the reserves of the asset, bringing its price down to zero.
The Pump.Fun developers have implemented several mechanics to prevent such scenarios. First, when creating a token on Pump.Fun, there is simply no way to add features that give developers control over the coin's code.
Secondly, on the start page of each token its largest holders are indicated. Thus, before purchasing a new coin, the user will see whether there are suspicious wallets that contain a large amount of the asset.
Ease of issuing a token. Pump.Fun have developed a very simple interface for creating a token, and the entire process takes less than a minute. To issue a token, you need to perform the following procedure:
You will need a wallet that supports the Solana network. For example, Phantom is suitable, this is the most popular.
It is enough to keep a couple of dollars in the Solana (Sol) cryptocurrency in your wallet. More is possible if you want to invest in your token.
You need to connect your wallet to the Pump.Fun website and click the “Start a new coin” button at the top of the screen.
The token issue menu will open. There you need to indicate the name, ticker, description, and select an image for the logo. You can also add a link to your website and social networks. This is usually an important factor for the success of the token.
At the end, you should click create coin and confirm the creation transaction in your wallet.
The token has been created - what next?
Once created, your token will have its own page. On it you will see a chart of the coin and its holders, where the latter will be able to chat. This, by the way, is a good indicator that there is a living community behind the asset. The chat for tokens launched by scammers is usually empty.
Your coin's page will also have the option to buy and sell it. And perhaps the most important indicator: bonding curve progress. This metric, roughly speaking, reflects the capitalization of your token. When it reaches $69 thousand, and this figure reaches 100%, Pump.Fun will automatically list your coin on the Raydium decentralized exchange.
Top 3 trading platforms on Solana. Main DEXs for network tokens
Getting onto Raydium is a turning point in the life of a new token. If it ends up there, the launch can already be considered successful. However, immediately after being added to Raydium, the price of the coin usually falls - as coin holders were waiting for this event to take profits.
What happens next will determine the fate of the token. Either those who bought the coin will discard it and move on to the next project, or there will be new buyers who want to purchase an asset that has successfully passed the test by getting onto Raydium.
I would like to note that the success of the project largely depends on its promotion through social networks. Once the token is created, it immediately goes to the Pump.Fun home page. However, new coins appear there literally every second. Therefore, it is unlikely that users will pay attention to your token.
However, if you have a community, then the chances are much higher. A token with active purchases may be included in the Top of the Hill line. This is a separate field on the main page of Pump.Fun, where the most lively coins that are growing in price are selected. If yours ends up there, it will make it very likely to be added to Raydium.
What to do to receive an airdrop
The project did not directly announce a future token distribution, which is great. This means that if there is an airdrop, its distribution will not be very blurry due to the huge number of users. However, there is a possibility that there will be no coin distribution at all or you will not get into it. Unfortunately, no one can guarantee a clear profit from participation in the project.
If there is a distribution, then to increase the chances of receiving it you can do the following:
1. Use the platform more often. Preferably at least once a week. You can buy and sell tokens for small amounts. However, it is very important that the volume of transactions is adequate, at least $50-100. If you make transactions for near-zero amounts, you may be blacklisted and deprived of your airdrop.
2. Be sure to try to issue a token yourself. It's simple and almost free. Better several times.
3. Be sure to have at least $50-100 on your wallet balance and keep part of it in the Solana cryptocurrency. Wallets with low balances are often eliminated when tokens are distributed.
In fact, to receive an airdrop, you will probably only need to use the platform as a regular user. The only thing I’ll add to this is: try very hard not to lose money trading meme tokens. Most of them are outright scams that drop to nothing within a few minutes of launch.
