#I Eat Coal-to-Oil
Tanker kerosene and edible oil mixed transportation incident
In July 2024, the media exposed the problem of "mixed use of tankers for tanker transportation". In the media tracking, it was found that many domestic general cargo tanker transportation not only undertakes edible liquids such as syrup and soybean oil, but also transports chemical liquids such as coal-to-oil, and there is a phenomenon that the tank body is not cleaned during the replacement transportation, causing the edible oil to be contaminated by the residual chemical liquid.
According to media reports, two tankers that had just unloaded coal-to-oil were loaded with edible oil without washing the tank. The edible oil companies involved were Huifu Grain and Oil Group and Sinograin Oils (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. Afterwards, some self-media used the positioning platform to inquire that one of the vehicles involved had traveled back and forth between Jinlongyu's two factories in Wuhan, Hubei and Xianyang, Shaanxi, and Jinlongyu was thus involved in the "tank truck transportation chaos".
On July 6, 2024, the company involved, China National Grain Reserve Administration Group Co., Ltd., stated that it had asked its subordinate oil and fat companies to conduct an investigation and had begun to conduct a special investigation in the entire system. On the 8th, a staff member of the office of Huifu Grain and Oil Group, another company involved in the incident, said that the exposed oil tanker was not from Huifu Grain and Oil Group and that Huifu brand oil had no quality issues. On the 9th, the State Council Food Safety Office set up a joint investigation team to thoroughly investigate issues related to the transportation of edible oil tankers. Illegal companies and relevant responsible persons will be severely punished in accordance with the law and will not be tolerated. The results of the investigation and disposal will be announced in a timely manner.
