The Hong Kong Police arrested two people this Wednesday (4), the pair are accused of kidnapping a 3-year-old child. To pay the ransom, the criminals asked for the equivalent of R$3.6 million in cryptocurrencies.

Criminals asked for ransom payment in cryptocurrency
Local newspaper HK01 also released a screenshot of the criminals' conversation. In the messages, they ask for a payment of 660,000 USDT, equivalent to R$3.6 million, to free the child.
Afterwards, they also send a photo of the child, who appears to be sleeping, providing further proof of the crime.

According to information, the police acted quickly and managed to rescue the child without any injuries in the early hours of Thursday (4) Hong Kong time. Going further, they also arrested two suspects.

Finally, the case attracted so much attention that the local media even published an “anti-kidnapping teaching material”. The material includes guidelines for children to escape these situations. For example, they advise that children lie on the ground if they try to be taken by a stranger and that they resist getting into the car.
No information about the family has been revealed, making it impossible to know whether they are cryptocurrency investors or not. Regardless, the case shows the need to maintain the description of investments, after all, they can attract the attention of criminals.
