According to TechFlow, on August 26, Ethereum Foundation engineer Barnabas Busa tweeted that the Holesky public testnet genesis file has been generated and merged into the main branch of the GitHub Ethereum client Holesky library. The launch date of the Holesky public testnet is 22:00 Beijing time on September 15, 2023. The genesis block will have 1,460,000 verification nodes, making it the largest public network to date.

The Ethereum Foundation will distribute more than 2 billion hETH during the genesis phase, Faucet and RPC endpoints will be online shortly after the genesis event, and some additional hETH will be distributed for deposits. Developers have tried to reduce the size of the genesis state as much as possible, but it still reaches 197MB.
