Binance, October 27, 08:26 UTC: 5000
$BTC are going to an address that had previously been empty. In the next block, at 08:47, another 6325.858437.
Together, they’re estimated at $903 million, and everyone’s already calling it a “waking up” whale.
But I’m looking at May. On May 8, the same sender sent 0.000923 BTC to this address—and those same 92,300 sats moved on from there back then. Someone checked that the withdrawal went through, then waited until October. So nobody woke up—the address was prepared in advance for a large withdrawal.
Whether this is a purchase—who knows. A withdrawal from an exchange tells you just one thing: the coins are no longer on the exchange.
I don’t hold bitcoin myself.
As of October 28, all 11325.858637 are still there. If even some of it goes back to an exchange, you can forget about holding.
Would you read this as accumulation, or as an over-the-counter deal that was simply moved off the exchange?
