🌐ECONOMIC UPDATE FOR JUNE 2026
Q2 GDP grew 8.39% — well above the forecast of 6.9%, raising the first-half growth rate to 8.18%.
In particular, in June, people increased spending as retail grew 14.8%, industrial production rose 12.7%, and exports reached USD 50.79 billion — up 28.1%.
Inflation cooled faster than expected: June CPI was 4.69% versus 5.6% in the previous month, still within the full-year target.
🔸Key points to watch: June imports surged by 45.2% — far faster than exports — causing the cumulative trade deficit for the first six months to reach USD 16.65 billion, a complete reversal from the USD 7.95 billion surplus in the same period last year.
