AI GENERATES 44% OF NEW TRACKS
French streaming service Deezer has dropped a shocking stat: about 75,000 tracks created by neural networks are uploaded daily, accounting for nearly half (44%) of all new content. In a month, AI 'bakes' over 2 million compositions, literally flooding digital libraries with synthetic sounds. However, this massive supply isn't creating demand — these tracks only see 1–3% of real listens, as users still prefer music created by humans.
The situation is complicated by the fact that around 85% of AI music listens are deemed fake — a result of bot farms trying to scam their way into royalties. In response to this challenge, Deezer has started tagging AI content with special labels, stripping it of monetization and excluding it from recommendation algorithms. Platforms are forced to implement strict filters and limit the quality of such uploads to prevent streams from turning into an endless flow of 'digital noise,' making it impossible to find real artists.
