## Eni’s bet on Venezuela
The Italian oil company Eni has decided to stay and go strong in Venezuela. A new agreement with PDVSA for the development of the gigantic Junín 5 project in the Orinoco Belt not only represents a vote of confidence in the country, but also includes investments of up to 1.500 million dollars per year. The goal is ambitious: to increase production from 12,000 to 400,000 barrels per day by 2030, growth of more than 3,000% in just over four years.
For the average citizen, this news may seem far away, but what happens with oil has a ripple effect on the Venezuelan economy and, of course, on the ecosystem of cryptocurrencies and P2P payments. If the agreement is finalized and investment flows in, the inflow of foreign currency could change the behavior of the dollar and, therefore, the demand for USDT as a safe haven and exchange medium.
