A chain running 50,000 TPS sounds impressive until you realize that means 50,000 state mutations per second, each requiring storage, indexing, and verification by every node in the network. State bloat is the silent killer of decentralization. The faster a chain processes transactions, the faster its state expands. And the larger the state, the more expensive it becomes to run a full node. Eventually you are left with a handful of data centers doing the heavy lifting while everyone else trusts them — functionally a database, not a blockchain.
