USD1 reward officially extended to October 30|Second-stage details not yet released|BNB around 770, I won’t chase
My stance is to separate the new announcement from the old window first, and only then discuss trading. After reviewing the Binance Support Center’s updates, including the popular plaza and trending searches, Binance News, Research, OTC, as well as macro, regulation, ETFs, corporate holdings, security, and project announcements, I found a new notice on October 1: the USD1 incentive that was originally scheduled to end at 00:00 UTC on October 2 will be extended to 00:00 UTC on October 30.
The old post from tonight at 21:00 refers to the endpoint at the time and stated that an extension was possible. But now that the extension has been implemented, we can’t use the old cutoff time as the final answer.
The new plan is divided into two phases. Phase 1 is from October 2 to October 16 at 00:00 UTC, with a prize pool of 75 million WLFI. Phase 2 is from October 16 to October 30 at 00:00 UTC, with an additional prize pool of another 75 million WLFI and up to 2.5 million USD1. But the official statement is explicit: the participation terms for Phase 2 will be updated on or before October 16, so you can’t mechanically apply the Phase 1 rules to Phase 2, and you can’t turn “up to” into a fixed return that every holder is guaranteed.
Weekly rewards are calculated based on the proportion of eligible USD1 balance and the effective annualized rate for that period. The balance uses the minimum value from hourly snapshots each day. The 1.2x reward for leveraged or futures/contract accounts still has eligibility thresholds—for example, the USD1 contract daily minimum open position must be at least 300 USD1. USD1 acquired by swapping from other stablecoins must also factor in a 70% discount and exclude liabilities. This isn’t an invitation for risk-free arbitrage.
Why is this related to BNB? USD1 liquidity, trading, and the BNB Chain ecosystem are connected. Extending the incentive may delay any related funds from exiting, and it may increase stablecoin activity within the platform. However, this announcement is a reward from the Binance platform to USD1 holders; it’s not a dividend distribution to BNB holders. It doesn’t mean real on-chain transaction fees increase, nor does it mean BNB suddenly gets more buy pressure right away. If large funds stay on-platform only for rewards, they may still move out after the program ends. I’ll look at USD1’s actual net inflow, on-chain transfers, and whether BNB price moves in sync—not just watch the total prize pool. Even 150 million WLFI across both phases can’t be simply equated to a fixed USD subsidy value based on the current coin price.
When writing this, Binance BNB/USDT is around $770.36, up about 0.48% over the past 24 hours. The range is $763.02 to $772.50, and the price hasn’t yet broken above the intraday high in a meaningful way. This doesn’t prove that the extension is the reason the price is rising. At the same time, macro interest rates and overall risk appetite still have an impact.
I’ll first see whether $772.5 can truly reclaim and hold via an hourly close. Then I’ll watch whether support holds near the $766.7 opening area. If it breaks below $763 and can’t quickly reclaim, the judgment that the extension is bullish enough to support the price would be invalidated. If it’s only a short-term spike and platform activity data doesn’t improve, it wouldn’t increase my position size.
If I were trading this myself, I’m not participating—directional wait-and-see, position size 0%. Only if there’s an hourly close above 773, and the next hour pulls back to the 771–773 zone and holds while BTC isn’t urgently dumping, would I take a spot long with a maximum of 0.4% of total capital. First target: 778 (after the halving). Second target: 784 (close out). After entering, if the next hour returns below 769, I’ll reduce half. A hard stop loss at 765 will close everything. If before entry price first breaks below 763, the original long plan is canceled. I won’t open high leverage just for a 1.2x reward, and I won’t write untriggered plans as if they’ve already been filled.
