Circle warns that quantum circuit resources are declining; migrating USDC to quantum-resistant technology requires coordination across the entire ecosystem. Data: $BTC . Looking back at the performance of several “trending-topic-linked coins,” one pattern stands out: by the time the hype peaks, the candlestick chart has often already made a move. #纸面交易1000倍杠杆亏损 Yesterday, X was flooded with discussion about a new Perp DEX project built on Hyperliquid’s HyperEVM: @papertrade_xyz.
It drew attention because, at launch, its pre-deposit phase attracted $138 million in funds, and within minutes after opening, its notional trading volume broke into the tens of billions. And there’s also a rule with a strong Ponzi-like setup: if you lose money, you mine.
This DEX starts with 1000x leverage and zero funding fees. But at launch, the project’s LP was empty. In other words, every time you open a high-leverage position and get liquidated, the money you lose directly becomes the principal of the house’s LP pool;
As compensation, the protocol gives you token $PAPER, turning you into an “early shareholder” who can share in the future losses of others.
At this very early stage, every $1 lost can roughly earn you 100 PAPER. Staking these PAPER tokens lets you share in the real profits generated by the protocol’s cut from winners.
This has created an absurd phenomenon:
Many people intentionally open high-leverage positions and get liquidated, essentially using a certain loss to “buy” an early claim on dividends from this on-chain casino.
At this point, you might ask: if everyone is making money, and the LP pool is empty, where does the protocol get the money to pay people?
According to its mechanism, winners’ principal can be returned directly, but profits must enter a queue system (FIFO queue).
If you make money, you can’t withdraw it right away. You must wait until new players enter later, get liquidated and lose money, and the pool has incoming funds, before your profits are distributed in queue order. 🤡
So, the players rushing in now to “mine by losing” are betting on extremely high early token dividends, but the project’s flywheel depends heavily on a steady stream of future traders coming in to lose money and provide blood.
So how much you lose on this DEX is worth pondering. If you lose too little, the PAPER tokens you get may not be enough, and the staking yield may not be much;
If you lose too much, considering the project’s medium- to long-term risk, the income distributed to you may not even make up for the principal you lost.$BTC
