🚨 Breaking: The Philippines’ largest exchange may lose its license? 😱 Major news is making the rounds: Two people familiar with the matter told CoinDesk that the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is cracking down on the country’s largest crypto exchange, Coins.ph. The company is suspected of acting as a “payment channel” for restricted offshore gambling firms. In the worst-case scenario, the 12-year-old company could have its license revoked! 📊 Just how big is the company? • 18 million users and 12 years in business • Around $50 million in 24-hour spot trading volume • Controls 75%–80% of the liquidity for Philippine peso-to-stablecoin trading One source put it this way: This would have a “seismic” impact on the Philippines’ crypto ecosystem. 🔍 The signs are adding up: • Earlier this month, the central bank cut off deposit channels for DCPay, its affiliated wallet • Since the start of this year, senior compliance executives—including the chief compliance officer and head of anti-money-laundering monitoring—have left one after another • About a year ago, the central bank blocked gambling access through e-wallets. The business then shifted to Coins.ph, while crypto and stablecoins were also used to settle payments with offshore partners 🤐 Here’s the key point: For now, this is still only a report. As of publication, neither Coins.ph nor the central bank had responded to requests for comment. (Source: FX168, citing CoinDesk; followed up on today by Dongqu and PANews) In other words: The Philippines is the world’s fourth-largest recipient of remittances. Its 10.8 million overseas workers send home around $43 billion a year, and crypto channels are playing an increasingly significant role. Southeast Asia’s compliance hammer may really be about to fall on its biggest player. Which country do you think will be next to follow suit? For reference only; not investment advice

🚨 Breaking: China’s courts have officially taken up the case over who owns 61,900 $BTC Just yesterday evening, I posted about the UK court ruling: Chinese law applies to claims over the 61,000 BTC in the Zhimin Qian case. Here’s the follow-up today—on October 13, the Tianjin No. 2 Intermediate People’s Court issued a notice stating that it had accepted the procuratorate’s application on September 28 to confiscate the illegal proceeds of Zhimin Qian. (Qian Zhimin was the person who swindled 40.378 billion yuan from 102,000 investors between 2014 and 2017 through the fraudulent “Blue Sky Greengrape” investment scheme.) The assets to be confiscated this time are listed to eight decimal places: ⚖️ 61,896.41552945 BTC, worth about $5.166 billion at the real-time price of $83,460 when this was posted ⚖️ Plus 72,745.79502 BCH, 72,745.78555 BTG, 72,745.7845 BSV, and 3,605,989.9995 XRP ⚖️ Also 70,081,208.62553222 Dogecoin (already converted to cash by UK judicial authorities and placed in an interest-bearing account) ⚖️ Plus cash in US dollars, euros, and pounds, jewelry, bank balances, and investment portfolios In 2017, Qian fled to the UK with the computer holding the coins. British police later seized them. Under Article 299 of the Criminal Procedure Law, confiscation proceedings can begin if a wanted person fails to appear within a year—she fits the criteria perfectly. The good news: The notice period is six months. Investors who suffered losses can register to join the proceedings through the “Tianjin No. 2 Intermediate People’s Court Litigation Platform for Interested Parties” WeChat mini-program. Those who don’t participate can still receive their share of the funds returned during the recovery process. At last, there’s an official process to get back the hard-earned money people were swindled out of. To put it another way: Will these 60,000-plus coins be returned based on the original principal, or will investors get a share of the gains? The UK court only ruled yesterday that Chinese law applies—now we’ll see what happens over the next six months. What percentage do you think the victims will ultimately get back? 🚨 Breaking: Ledger has gone big this time—the shelves in 6 countries + Hong Kong have been cleared by Ledger itself A few hours ago, cold-wallet giant Ledger weighed in on X: It told all dealers and distributors in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Hong Kong to stop selling and pull all products from shelves. In other words: this fire has spread from one reseller to half of Asia. 📍 A quick recap of this ongoing saga: October 9 — Someone found a “bug” installed in a Ledger Nano X bought from reseller CryptoBilis: an LTE/eSIM module + a cellular antenna, which sent the recovery phrase straight to a hacker’s server (SlowMist’s teardown report said the work was highly professional—not something an amateur could pull off) Bitquery later estimated total losses at around $102M, involving 324 wallets; Tether froze $10M; even CZ weighed in Yesterday — European retail giant MediaMarktSaturn pulled Ledger products from 1,000+ stores across 11 countries Today — Ledger officially told resellers in 6 countries + Hong Kong to stop selling. This is the broadest action taken since the investigation began 👍 Ledger is acting like a responsible company this time, and deserves some credit: 1. It acted decisively: instead of waiting for the investigation to wrap up, it cleared the shelves first—better to lose sales than let customers buy a “modified” device 2. It made things clear: Ledger explicitly said its own systems, servers, and direct sales through its website were not compromised—you can feel safe buying from the official website 3. The confirmed scope is limited: confirmed thefts have so far only been reported in Southeast Asia; there’s currently no evidence of cases elsewhere (the one in Europe is still only “suspected”) 4. Even competitors are taking notice: Trezor has also announced it will reduce the number of its resellers—the whole industry is being pushed to audit its supply chain ⚠️ One quick risk note: if you previously bought a device from a Southeast Asian reseller, inspect its exterior for extra holes or antenna marks. If you’re unsure, transfer your coins to a new device bought directly from the official website. As for a recall or compensation, there’s still no word from Ledger. 😂 Has Bitcoin been putting on a "caught between a rock and a hard place" show for the whole market these past couple of days? 📌 First, the numbers (TradingView, as of 07:08 this morning): $BTC $83,225, 24h +1.81% $ETH $2,498.5, 24h +2.21% $SOL $106.59, 24h +0.91% APT is the strongest: $0.8308, 24h +4.70% 🔥 🔹 Here's what the market is saying: Whales on one side are buying the dip, while ETFs on the other are seeing outflows. With the two sides locked in a tug-of-war, Bitcoin is stuck in the middle of the 83,000–84,000 range like a sandwich filling—can't go up, can't go down. Just a relentlessly choppy market. ⚡️ Binance, meanwhile, has made a big move: It officially announced that it will shut down its mining pool on November 10. A pool that mined 22,188 blocks over 6 years is closing just like that. The miners are packing up and moving, while Bitcoin is still going sideways and playing dead 😅 💡 My take: cautiously bullish. If 83,000 holds, the next short-term resistance to watch is the 84,500–85,000 zone. If you're thinking of chasing a long, cut your losses if it breaks below 82,000—don't get stubborn. One quick note on risk: U.S. Treasury yields are still hovering near their 2002 highs, and macro factors could hit at any time. Are you bullish or bearish today? 🚨 Breaking update: 2 hours ago, MediaMarkt pulled all Ledger hardware wallets from its shelves Europe’s largest electronics retailer, MediaMarktSaturn, announced that it has removed all Ledger devices (the little “USB stick” containing $BTC $ETH ) from more than 1,000 stores and its online shop across 11 countries as a precaution. The incident came to light thanks to a German guy named Johannes: he bought a Ledger at each of two different stores, and when he opened them up, both had been tampered with—extra cables plus a hidden LTE cellular module (with an eSIM). In plain English: the 24 recovery words you see on the screen during setup could be secretly photographed and sent out over a mobile network. You buy a hardware wallet and it comes with its own SIM card. That’s what you call a “physical backstab” 😅 Ledger also responded on X today, and handled it pretty well: ✅ The sales pause was agreed with MediaMarkt—not a falling-out ✅ No loss of funds has been detected in the German incident so far ✅ Ledger’s own systems and servers weren’t breached; the issue was limited to certain retail channels Add another entry to the growing ledger: in the Southeast Asian CryptoBilis case, Bitquery raised its estimated losses for 10–12 to $102M across 324 wallets, and Tether has frozen $10M. The former Mt. Gox CEO also claimed today that a Ledger Flex bought at Singapore airport had been tampered with—unbelievable. The silver lining (if you look hard enough): the retailer reacted quickly, Ledger didn’t pass the buck, and there are no confirmed losses so far. A lucky break in an otherwise bad situation. Just remember this: only buy hardware wallets from the official website or official stores. Don’t touch a “90% new Ledger,” no matter how cheap it is. Where do you keep your recovery phrase? Three knives held to his face in the middle of the night: British trader robbed of $800,000 at home Just after 9 a.m. today, a verified trader on X with the handle @rrealist posted a tweet that was seen by 1.93 million people: In the middle of the night, someone broke into his home in the UK, tied him up, held three knives to his face, and threatened to kill him. In the end, $800,000 worth of crypto assets was stolen. He later added more details himself, recounting what happened that night: The robbers first accessed his main wallet and transferred out $40,000. Then they forced him to hand over a Ledger hardware wallet, which held another $720,000. Before leaving, they also took his Rolex and smashed his phone—presumably to stop him from calling the police right away. He reported the incident to the police, and the entire house is now a crime scene. Thankfully, apart from a few bruises, he wasn’t stabbed. He also shared the wallet address holding the stolen funds in his post. It can be looked up on Solscan, where the balance at the time was still 346.12 SOL. That’s how crypto is: the whole world can see where the money went, but getting it back is nearly impossible. He reflected: “You hear about this kind of thing all the time, but never think it’ll happen to you.” 💡 A few practical takeaways This is a warning to everyone involved in crypto—and a hard lesson learned the painful way: First, don’t show off how much money you have online. You may think you’re sharing your wins, but to the wrong people, it’s a guide to robbing you: “This person has $800,000 in crypto at home.” Second, physical security matters just as much as on-chain security. Don’t leave hardware wallets somewhere obvious, spread large holdings across different wallets, and don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Third, don’t link your wallet addresses to your identity. The more transparent you are online, the more at risk you may be in real life.

🚨Breaking: Russia’s biggest bank is officially getting into crypto trading! Here’s how surreal this is: A few years ago, the Russian central bank’s attitude toward crypto was basically: “Let’s ban it once and for all.” Today? The country’s largest bank, Sberbank, has a license issued by the central bank itself and will let customers buy and sell $BTC, $ETH, and $USDT directly in its banking app starting December 1. Here are a few precise figures that show just how significant this is: 📋 The list of licensed firms updated by Russia’s central bank today: crypto exchange licenses have risen from 4 to 10, custody licenses from 5 to 6, with the two major banks Sberbank and VTB both on the list 📱 Official launch on December 1, with trading available directly on three existing platforms—SberBank Online / SberInvestments / SberBusiness—so users won’t need to download a new app ⏪ For context: just 6 days ago (October 7), it received a custody license, becoming the first in all of Russia to do so. Now it has its trading license too—both licenses secured One caveat: crypto still can’t be used to pay for goods and services inside Russia. That’s been banned since 2022, and nothing has changed. A country that once wanted to ban crypto, now with its biggest bank personally getting into crypto trading—what a plot twist. Even screenwriters wouldn’t dare write this. Let’s talk in the comments: Which country do you think will be next to have its biggest bank get into crypto trading? 📋 The list of licensed firms updated by Russia’s central bank today: crypto exchange licenses have risen from 4 to 10, custody licenses from 5 to 6, with the two major banks Sberbank and VTB both on the list
📱 Official launch on December 1, with trading available directly on three existing platforms—SberBank Online / SberInvestments / SberBusiness—so users won’t need to download a new app
⏪ For context: just 6 days ago (October 7), it received a custody license, becoming the first in all of Russia to do so. Now it has its trading license too—both licenses secured

One caveat: crypto still can’t be used to pay for goods and services inside Russia.

🚨Breaking: South Korea just blocked 27 exchange websites in one go! In other words: if you still have assets on KuCoin or MEXC, go check on them now. ① The list is full of familiar names: KuCoin, MEXC, Phemex, Bitrue, BitMart, BingX, CoinW, BTCC, DigiFinex… 27 exchanges, not one left out—all entities that aren’t registered in South Korea but are still secretly serving Korean users. ② The action was taken by South Korea’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), which made the decision after meetings on October 6–7: domestic servers will be shut down, and overseas websites will be blocked. This time, both the apps and websites are being taken down. ③ This isn’t the first time: back in April 2025, they removed 14 apps from Apple’s App Store and 17 from Google Play. This time, they’re plugging the gap on the website front. ④ The one considerate thing: the FIU itself acknowledged that withdrawals could run into snags, and said it would work with DAXA (the Korean exchange alliance) to provide users with withdrawal guidance—the money should be withdrawable, but it may take some effort. Put simply: South Korea is following through on “no license, no business in Korea” to the letter. The stricter the compliance rules, the fewer chances shady platforms have to run off with users’ money. In the long run, that’s not necessarily a bad thing for the industry. 🚨 Breaking: New developments in the Ledger supply-chain theft case—the estimated losses have been revised up to $102 million! On 10-12, on-chain investigators Bitquery updated their report: estimated losses from the theft involving tampered Ledger wallets sold through Malaysian distributor CryptoBilis have risen from $86M to $102M, affecting 324 wallets. In other words: hackers added theft circuitry to genuine hardware wallets and sold them as authentic. As soon as users deposited crypto, their funds were remotely swept away. The TRON network took the biggest hit, with losses of $79.3M, while $BTC $16.8M was lost across other networks, including $ETH and BNB Chain. As bad as this is, there are a few bright spots: ① Tether has frozen $10M USDT in 20 associated wallets; ② As of 10-12, around $82M in funds could still be traced on-chain—they haven't completely vanished; ③ Ledger's official direct-sales channels and its own systems were not affected, so there's no need to worry if you bought your device through an official channel; ④ Even CZ weighed in: the hackers "clearly bought the distributor," and the investigation is ongoing. One more reminder: modified Ledger Nano X devices were just discovered today on Amazon and Yahoo Auctions in Japan, too. 🚨 Breaking: Binance just announced it’s “pulling the plug” today! After 6.5 years in operation, Binance Pool will officially shut down on November 10. In plain English: Binance is getting out of the mining pool business, so miners will have to move their machines elsewhere. 📋 Save this timeline (all times are UTC): November 10, 07:00 — Official disconnection: mining machines won’t be able to connect, submitted hashrate will no longer be accepted, and payouts will stop. Pool Savings users: Redeem your funds before November 10—don’t put it off. Anyone who hasn’t completed identity verification: Get it done by November 10, 23:59, or your settlement may be affected. You can access your historical records until November 24, 07:00. After that, the page will be permanently closed. 💡 The upsides: 1️⃣ A clean exit: The full timeline is laid out, so the shutdown is clear and straightforward. 2️⃣ No funny business with balances: Hashrate submitted before the deadline will still count, and eligible rewards and refunds will still be paid after the shutdown. 3️⃣ Spot and futures trading are completely unaffected—business as usual. ⚠️ The downside, in a nutshell: Mining machine users need to find a new pool now and switch their configurations before November 10. Don’t sleep on it. The pool launched in April 2020, starting with $BTC mining. Along the way, it also ran a $500 million mining company loan program. And now, after 6.5 years, it’s closing just like that. The official explanation: routine product line adjustments. 🚨Breaking: Thailand has made its decision! Spot BTC and ETH ETFs officially approved In plain English: From now on, buying Bitcoin in Thailand won’t require the hassle of opening an exchange account or managing your own private keys—you can simply buy ETFs for $BTC and $ETH through your stock account, just like buying shares. 📌 The new rules take effect this Friday (October 16). The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) may list spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. 📌 Only these two coins are approved initially: only those with a sufficiently large market and ample liquidity qualify. 📌 Each fund’s average net exposure to spot assets must exceed 80% of its net assets. Derivatives can’t be used as a substitute—the funds must actually buy the coins. 📌 The coins must be held by local custodians approved by Thailand’s SEC. Overseas custodians can wait for now. The benefits at a glance: ① Another gateway to regulatory compliance has opened in Southeast Asia, making it easier for traditional capital to enter. ② ETFs are convenient for retail investors and reassuring for institutions, with plenty of potential for fresh investment. ③ Thailand had already approved USDT for trading and payments. This latest move builds on that momentum, and the regulatory outlook is becoming increasingly clear. A brief word of caution: The new rules have only just taken effect, and specific products still need to go through the issuer approval process. Don’t rush to go all in before everything is finalized. I just checked the market: BTC is at 82,638, just a few dozen bucks shy of 82,700. This support is about as sturdy as wet tissue. It tested 84,000 twice this week and got smacked down both times. ETFs saw $681 million in outflows last week—the biggest since June. You know what that means: there’s no one up there to catch the falling knife. I don’t think 82,700 will hold. If it breaks, the next level to watch is 82,000. The eventual target is 75,000. I’m not touching it at this level. $SOL Two scenarios for tonight 📜 Here’s the breakdown: 110.8 is stuck in the middle, with resistance at 112.5 above and support at 108.8 below. Which way will it go tonight? That depends on whether the bears show any mercy. Scenario 1: 108.8 holds and price stabilizes. The bulls catch their breath, and the next level to watch is 112.5. You can hold your position. Scenario 2: Price breaks below 108.8 on strong volume. Don’t try to catch a falling knife—wait and reassess at the 108 round-number level. Which scenario is more likely? Scenario 1. Why: The 48-hour low of 108.8 has held before, and there are still buyers above 110. It doesn’t look like a straight plunge. Pros: Clear levels. If 108.8 breaks, get out—you’ll know exactly what you’ve lost. Cons: If the broader market leads a sell-off, SOL has never been one to sit it out, and 108 may not hold either. $BTC Who wins tonight, the bulls or the bears? 🥊 In plain English: Price is drifting around 83,300 on low volume, with a ceiling at 84,000 and a floor at 82,700. Tonight is a battle between the floor and the ceiling. 🟢 The bulls’ hand: The 82,700 low from the past 48 hours has held before. Price is now hovering just above that level—the closer it gets to the floor, the more tempting it is to buy the dip. 🔴 The bears’ hand: Several long upper wicks in a row above 84,000—a classic case of “banging your head against a wall.” Add tonight’s big bearish candle, and the bears have just finished grinding the bulls into the ground. The verdict: The bears have the stronger hand tonight. First, watch whether 82,700 holds. If it doesn’t, price could head straight for 82,000. Even if it does hold, that may only offer a brief breather—don’t expect 84,000 to be within reach in the short term. The upside: If 82,700 holds, this could be a decent spot for a short-term long position. The downside: Buying the dip right after a big bearish candle is no different from trying to catch a falling knife. Don’t get carried away with your position size.
