🔥 Liquidations: Another $1B liquidated as the market bleeds red, with 24h liquidations past $1.02B and 196,826 traders liquidated, longs taking $912.75M of it.
📊 Sea of red: BTC $75,764 down 5.96%, ETH $2,246 down 7.93%, SOL $89.98 down 7.13%, BNB $689 down 4.01%, HYPE $79 down 8.25%, ADA down 8.32%, almost every top coin red, only stablecoins green.
💬 Rough math, more than $1.8B has evaporated in two days. Ever since the Binance hack, liquidations seem to come faster, don't they?
🔴 Sea of red: AI, tech and chip stocks are dumping hard along with BTC, the heatmap is red across the board with nowhere to hide.
📊 Damage: Bloom Energy -17.52%, SanDisk -16.55%, Western Digital -13.11%, Seagate -13.03%, AMD -13.01%, Vertiv -12.43%, Micron -11.97%, Dell -11.21%, Marvell -11.00%, Qualcomm -10.62%.
🏛️ Cause: Markets fear tighter AI and data-center regulation after Democrats swept both chambers, and the political risk is spreading across chips and storage names.
💬 This is a selloff on political risk, not AI being finished. When the regulation fear fades, money will separate the names actually making money from AI and the ones just riding the theme.
$458.86M LIQUIDATED IN 1 HOUR, LONGS TOOK 94% OF IT
💥 Liquidations: $458.86M was liquidated in the past hour, per CoinGlass, with longs accounting for $431.63M and shorts just $27.23M.
📊 24 hours: Total 24h liquidations reached $725.82M, with 146,277 traders liquidated. The largest single liquidation was a Binance BTCUSDT order worth $6.17M.
📉 Context: BTC dumped from above $80,000 toward $76,600 in a matter of hours, after yesterday's vertical rally, flushing late longs.
💬 The flush cleared the long leverage piled up near the top, leaving the market lighter after the sweep, but anyone who chased longs up high paid a heavy price.
AI STOCKS SELL OFF, NASDAQ DOWN 3% AFTER THE MIDTERMS
📉 Selloff: The AI stock selloff that began yesterday deepened in morning trading, with the Nasdaq down about 3% and the PHLX Semiconductor Index down more than 5%.
📊 Damage: Nvidia and Broadcom fell about 5%, Oracle close to 5%, Tesla 9%, SpaceX 7%, Qualcomm 9%, CoreWeave 9%, Nebius 13% and IREN 11%.
🏛️ Cause: Markets fear tighter AI regulation, especially around data-center buildout, after Democrats swept both chambers of Congress.
🔄 Rotation: Money is rotating into other sectors, with Dow futures rising while financials, Amazon and Alphabet moved higher.
💬 It looks very negative, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. Investors are voluntarily cutting their AI exposure for political reasons, this may be a bubble deflating rather than a bubble bursting.
BREAKING: US FINISHES PREPARATIONS FOR POSSIBLE MAJOR CONFLICT WITH IRAN
⚔️ Buildup: The US military is finishing preparations for a possible resumption of major combat operations against Iran, sending more assets to the region, US officials told Axios.
🤔 Undecided: No final decision has been made, and even the president's closest aides are unsure what Trump will do next after the midterm defeat.
🕊️ Mediation: Qatar is mediating a draft agreement to head off a return to fighting, which could lead to direct talks in the coming days.
💬 Both doors are open at once: war preparations on one side, a mediated deal on the other. Markets will watch oil and gold first, that is where a breakdown in talks would show up fastest.
$BTC SHORT SETUP - Fade The Sweep Above The High 🔴 🔴 (SHORT)📍 Entry: $81,300 - $81,600 ⚡ Leverage: 10x Isolate | R:R 1:4.9 🎯 TP1: $79,850 🎯 TP2: $79,350 🎯 TP3: $78,750 🔴 SL: $82,000
BTC ripped vertically through $80,000 on the largest 1h volume in days, up 4.3% in 24 hours with no top structure yet. This is a counter-trend fade, not a trend short: wait for the sweep above the $81,196 high into the entry zone, only a rejection there validates it. Small size, hard SL above $82,000. 🔥
⚠️ Short the sweep, not the strength below it. If $82,000 breaks, the squeeze continues, exit without hesitation. Hard SL $82,000.
US OPENS THE DOOR TO PERPETUAL FUTURES ON SINGLE STOCKS
🏛️ Approval: The CFTC, the US futures markets regulator, has approved perpetual futures tied to individual US stocks, letting investors take positions on price moves in either direction with no expiry date.
📜 Framework: The contracts were deemed approved under Regulation 40.3, classified as security futures, under the joint oversight of the CFTC and the SEC.
🏢 In line: Since September, Coinbase, Kalshi and Kraken's Bitnomial have filed proposals, with OG.com following days later, but the CFTC named no venue and no launch date.
⚖️ Lawsuits: CME Group sued the CFTC in June, arguing the contracts need tighter rules and the agency overstepped its authority, while the CFTC says CME proved no harm. On approval day, the Capital Markets Alliance, backed by Cboe and Citadel Securities, also sued to overturn the decision.
💬 A product native to crypto is now entering US equities, but leverage is capped near 6.5x, trading hours are narrower, and the lawsuits could slow the first day of trading.
ZEC flushed to $1,120 on massive volume, based for two days, then stair-stepped back and broke the $1,245 resistance on expanding volume. The 15m keeps making higher lows into the breakout shelf, and the V-recovery structure stays intact above $1,228. Target is the $1,290 prior high, $1,360 extension if momentum holds. 🔥
⚠️ Best entries on a dip back to $1,244-$1,256. Chasing at the highs is poor R:R, wait for the retest. Hard SL $1,228.
MY TAKE: DEMOCRATS SWEPT CONGRESS, MARKETS TURN BULLISH FIRST
👀 Chart: After the Democratic win became clear, stocks and BTC both bounced. BTC swept near 75,800 then snapped back through 78,000, up 1.66% in 24 hours, with volume exploding right as the news landed.
🟡 Gold: Gold rebounded hard too, from below $3,900 back toward $3,950, after Trump said he was willing to accept the election results.
💸 Reason: In my view, everyone wants more money now and worries about the bill later. For years, whenever Democrats held power, government money got approved and pumped out, supply grew, and indexes climbed.
🚧 Constrained: Markets are pricing in a Trump constrained on tariffs and major strikes on Iran, with Democrats set to hold both the Senate and the House. He keeps the veto, which takes two-thirds to override, but the freedom to strike out on his own is gone.
💬 Bottom line: Short term I lean toward money flowing and markets rising, with gold riding the weaker dollar. Long term, the bill for all that printed money comes due eventually.
BREAKING: DEMOCRATS WIN THE SENATE, TRUMP VOWS VETOES
🔵 Sweep: Democrats took both chambers of Congress, flipping five Senate seats across South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas, Ohio, Kansas and Iowa. The House is estimated at 248 seats.
🗳️ Decisive race: Iowa sealed it, Josh Turek defeating Ashley Hinson. Kansas elected its first Democratic senator since 1932, Texas its first since 1988.
🇺🇸 Trump: The president partly blamed Iran for the result, said Democrats will send crazy bills and he will veto them, while adding both sides will work together.
💬 Comment: This is no longer a check on power, it is a change of power in Congress. The final two years now run on vetoes and investigations, and voters ruled on the cost of living and the Iran war.
BREAKING: DEMOCRATS TAKE THE HOUSE, CLOSE IN ON THE SENATE
🔵 House: CNN and Decision Desk HQ projected Democrats will win back control of the House, needing a net gain of three seats for 218 and tracking toward more than 230.
🔴 Senate: Still undecided. Democrats flipped seats in North Carolina and South Carolina but still need more for 51, with Kansas, Texas, Ohio and Michigan too close to call.
⚡ Upset: Annie Andrews stunned Republicans in South Carolina, while Roy Cooper flipped North Carolina, the first Democratic Senate win there since 2008.
💬 Comment: A flipped House alone is enough to tie the White House down: oversight, investigations and a block on the agenda for the final two years of the term. The Senate is the deciding battle, and it is not over.
BREAKING: US FUTURES SLIDE SHARPLY ON ELECTION NIGHT
📉 Futures: Nasdaq E-mini fell 1.8%, S&P 500 E-mini sank 0.8% and Dow futures slipped 0.3%, as early midterm counts pointed to a big night for Democrats.
🗳️ Election: Prediction markets priced a Democratic sweep of Congress at about 95%, up from roughly 75% before voting. No final result yet.
📊 Session: In Tuesday's regular session, the Dow fell 0.4% while the S&P 500 rose 0.4% and the Nasdaq climbed 0.8%. AMD, Arista and Supermicro gained on strong earnings.
💬 Comment: Markets do not fear elections, they fear a change of power. A flipped or divided Congress rewrites the tax, spending and regulation math, and the AI trade is paying first. $QQQ $SPY $BTC
OPENAI AND ANTHROPIC OPEN FIRST ELECTION WAR ROOMS
🏛️ First time: OpenAI and Anthropic have set up dedicated election war rooms for the US midterms, monitoring platform misuse and responding fast to incidents. Meta pioneered the model in 2018.
🤖 Scale: OpenAI's center in San Francisco runs shifts of more than a dozen people until all votes are counted. Anthropic staffed analysts in San Francisco, New York and Washington.
⚠️ New risks: Beyond fake news come deepfake videos and AI search spreading wrong information. Last week Google's AI Mode failed to answer who won the 2020 election; Google says it is fixing it.
📊 Users: About a quarter of eligible voters have asked a chatbot about a candidate while deciding how to vote, making chatbots a real election-information front.
💬 Comment: A war room is a response process, not proof every answer is right. But at least this time AI is not standing outside the election it is shaping.
🗳️ Election: Americans vote for all House seats and 35 Senate seats. Polymarket and Kalshi price a Democratic sweep of both chambers at roughly 75-78%, but that is market pricing, not a result.
📊 Bitcoin: BTC trades around $77,000, briefly dipping below and wiping over $100M in longs within an hour. Total liquidations over 24 hours neared $396M, mostly longs.
📜 Crypto law: The outcome could decide the fate of the CLARITY Act, the bill splitting crypto oversight between the SEC and CFTC, blocked in the Senate in September.
📈 History: Since 2010, Bitcoin has gained an average of 63% in the 12 months after a midterm election. Jamie Coutts says BTC must hold $70,000 to keep the bull case alive.
💬 Comment: Tonight's volatility is the price of uncertainty, not a verdict on trend. History favors buyers after midterms, but the market must get through count night first.
📊 Flows: US spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $398.6M in net outflows on November 2, a second straight day of withdrawals, with IBIT alone accounting for $405.3M.
🏦 Breakdown: IBIT was the only fund with net outflows, its largest single day since June 26. Fidelity's FBTC took in $6.7M, while every other fund stood still.
📉 Backdrop: The exits follow $515M in October outflows, as Bitcoin briefly fell below $76,400, its lowest since August.
💬 Comment: The selling was concentrated in one fund, not broad, and IBIT still holds $65.9B in cumulative net inflows since launch. Flows measure sentiment, not a verdict on Bitcoin.
HYPERLIQUID'S KEY TO THE US IS ITS OPERATORS' COMPLIANCE
🏦 Model: Hyperliquid's key to entering the US market lies in the compliance of its upper-layer operating entities, not in licensing the whole blockchain.
🧩 Mechanism: Jeff Yan's pitch puts regulation at the layer where the controls are, with market deployers handling onboarding, surveillance and reporting while the chain stays neutral infrastructure.
🤝 Two paths: ICE runs the regulated market and clearing with trade[XYZ], while Kraken routes through Bitnomial and NinjaTrader, both still awaiting approval.
🔒 HYPE: Every HIP-3 deployer must stake 500,000 HYPE for at least 183 days, so each new market locks more tokens up.
💬 Comment: This is an answer regulators can work with, turning #Hyperliquid from Wall Street's rival into its infrastructure. No formal approval yet, but the direction is clear.
CUMBERLAND QUESTIONS HYPERLIQUID PERPS COMING TO THE US
🏦 Plan: An ICE-backed plan to bring #Hyperliquid perps to US traders is taking shape, with ICE running the regulated market and clearing, pending approval, alongside a separate Kraken HIP-3 path.
❓ Four questions: Cumberland CEO Don Wilson asked what on-chain perps add over centralized venues, whether the transparent book exposes positions, whether priority fees amount to front-running, and whether the US book can merge with the global one.
🔍 Tracking: Hyperliquid's order book is fully public, so anyone can follow positions in real time, unlike CFTC markets where identities stay partly hidden. Wilson asked backer Stanley Druckenmiller directly if he knew and saw that as a benefit.
📊 Liquidity: A separate US book would mean thinner liquidity, the Binance.US lesson. Jito Labs agrees that is the core issue, while privacy tech could address the transparency part.
💬 Comment: A necessary counterpoint, not a death blow. The market will decide which model survives.
SOPH based at 0.00136-0.00145 for days, then broke out this morning on the biggest 1h volume in days, spiking to 0.00175 on 345M volume. Entry is the 0.00159-0.00163 shelf, the last 15m support before the high. Already up 18% on the day, so this is a pullback entry only, no chasing, with a hard stop below the shelf.
BINANCE SEES $3.64B NET OUTFLOWS AS WITHDRAWALS REOPEN
💸 Flows: Binance recorded $3.64B in net outflows in the first 9.5 hours after reopening withdrawals, with $4.65B withdrawn and $1.01B deposited.
📊 Scale: That is 2.1% of the $171B in assets under management from its October 28 proof-of-reserves snapshot.
🛡️ Stabilizing: Binance says withdrawal volumes declined after the initial spike, deposits stayed substantial, and 95% of the stolen assets are now replaced.
💬 Comment: 2.1% is a stress test, not a bank run. The rest of the story sits with the updated proof-of-reserves report and the networks still waiting to reopen. $BTC $BNB $ETH
QI dumped 19% to 0.00166 on the 4h candle with 148M volume, then V-recovered and spiked to 0.00221 on 86M volume in one 1h candle, 10-20x normal. Entry is the pre-spike shelf, the last 15m support before the high. Already up 19% on the day, so this is a pullback entry only, no chasing, with a hard stop below the shelf.
