South Korea has blocked 27 crypto exchanges, including KuCoin and MEXC, cutting off access for domestic users. The action by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) targets platforms that failed to register for anti-money laundering compliance, leaving many users struggling to withdraw their assets. Key details: - The block occurred on October 13 and affects unregistered overseas exchanges. - Users may face withdrawal difficulties, with DAXA managing escalated issues. - In total, 44 unregistered operators have been reported, with only about 28 platforms registered in South Korea. Considerations: - A liquidity shock might impact specific assets first. - With $110B already withdrawn from South Korean exchanges in 2025, will this trend deepen? - Some blocked platforms may try to bypass restrictions by changing URLs. Is that effective? - Current user risks include difficulties in withdrawing fundsโ€”what should affected users do now? Share your thoughts!

This week marks Bitcoin's highest close since late January, a time that saw prices plummet to around $60K. However, itโ€™s important to note that this is the fourth unsuccessful attempt since September 21 to reclaim the 2026 yearly open at $87,570. Spot ETFs have seen significant inflows, drawing about $2.4 billion in the week leading up to September 27, the highest since October 2025. Is the current market setup truly different from previous trends? Analysts point to the Cowen gap, suggesting that BTC typically rallies 20-30% after reclaiming the 50-week moving average. Yet, this time around, that rally hasnโ€™t happened, with $83K seen as a crucial threshold. Historical data from Binance Research indicates that rebounds during market drawdowns often lead to further declines. While this information provides valuable context, itโ€™s not predictive. The altseason index has surged to 64, marking its highest level in 2026, a significant jump from 23 just a month ago. While it still needs to reach 75 for a confirmed altseason, this movement indicates growing enthusiasm for alternative cryptocurrencies. Here's what you need to know: - The index reading of 64 signals increased interest in altcoins, especially as Bitcoin's dominance has dipped to 58.6%. Altcoins collectively gained $319 billion in Q3. - Some of the top performers over the last 90 days among the top 100 include QNT, ENA, UNI, AAVE, and LINK. - A confirmed altseason requires the index to hit 75 and Bitcoin's dominance to drop below 55%. Understanding the index: A score of 64 suggests a robust trend toward altcoin investment, but reaching 75 is critical for confirmation. Comparing cycles: The landscape has changed since 2021, largely due to ETF demand influencing capital flow. Itโ€™s worth considering if the traditional altseason strategies still apply. Looking ahead: Identifying which altcoins have solid fundamentals to thrive by 2027โ€”beyond just short-term gainsโ€”will be key for investors. What are your thoughts on this altseason momentum? Letโ€™s discuss! ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ‘ธ THE HIGHEST-PAID PROSTITUTE IN HISTORYโ—๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ

๐Ÿ”ฅ FROM PROSTITUTE TO EMPRESS: THEODORAโ€™S INSANE RISE
She was born around 497 CE as the daughter of a bear keeper working at the Hippodrome of Constantinople.
She had no royal blood.
No powerful family.
No inheritance.
Yet she would eventually become the Empress of the Byzantine Empire and one of the most powerful women of the ancient world.
Her name was Theodora. ๐Ÿ‘‘
According to the 6th-century historian Procopius, Theodora worked as an actress and performer at the Hippodrome, appearing as a dancer and entertainer. In Byzantine society, actresses were closely associated with prostitution, and Procopius portrays her as having worked as a courtesan.
But there is an important catch.
Procopiusโ€™ โ€œSecret Historyโ€ is extremely hostile toward Theodora and Justinian, and historians warn that some of his most sensational claims may be exaggerated or malicious gossip.
Still, her humble and controversial beginnings are not in serious doubt.
And then came the plot twist.
Theodora met Justinian, the future emperor.
He became so attached to her that Byzantine law had to be changed to make their marriage possible. At the time, senators were prohibited from marrying actresses.
The law changed.
And Theodora became Justinianโ€™s wife.
In 527 CE, she was crowned Empress.
But she wasn't simply the emperorโ€™s wife standing beside the throne.
Justinian treated her as a political partner, and Theodora became deeply involved in imperial affairs.
โš”๏ธ THE WOMAN WHO REFUSED TO RUN
In 532 CE, Constantinople exploded during the Nika Revolt.
The rebellion became so dangerous that Justinian reportedly considered fleeing the city.
Theodora argued against running.
Her position helped convince Justinian to stay and confront the revolt.
The rebellion was eventually crushed.
And Theodoraโ€™s influence inside the imperial court became even more obvious.
โš–๏ธ FROM THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD TO SOCIAL REFORMS
Theodora also became associated with reforms affecting women and vulnerable people.
She supported measures concerning women's rights, helped establish charitable institutions and sponsored homes for former prostitutes seeking to leave prostitution and rebuild their lives.
That makes her story even more remarkable:
The woman whose early life was associated with prostitution eventually became a patron of institutions helping women escape it.
๐Ÿ’ฐ WAS SHE THE โ€œRICHEST PROSTITUTE EVERโ€?

The financial impact extended far beyond Manchester. According to BBC analysis, Manchester City spent roughly ยฃ1.2 billion on players between 2009 and 2018, with around ยฃ900 million in net spending during the period. The club bought players from 46 different clubs across 19 national league systems. That means the financial effects of City's spending spread throughout the football ecosystem. Wolfsburg received a major fee for Kevin De Bruyne. Monaco received significant money for Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy. Arsenal was the club from which City signed the most players during the period covered by the BBC analysis. And some money reached clubs that did not directly sell a player to City. For example, QPR reportedly received around ยฃ9 million through a sell-on clause connected to Raheem Sterling's transfer from Liverpool to Manchester City. Barnsley reportedly received around ยฃ7 million from the John Stones transfer because of a sell-on arrangement. So the financial consequences weren't limited to the clubs that negotiated directly with Manchester City. THE BIGGER ISSUE The case isn't simply about whether Manchester City spent a lot. The Premier League's financial rules exist partly to prevent clubs with enormous financial resources from gaining advantages by spending beyond regulatory limits. The independent commission concluded that City's arrangements were designed to circumvent those rules. The Premier League described the case as the most significant disciplinary case in its history. And that raises a much bigger question: How much of modern football was shaped by money that regulators have now determined was improperly reported? Manchester City's rise coincided with huge investments in players, wages, infrastructure and commercial growth. Those investments helped create one of the dominant teams of the modern era. But the commission's findings mean the financial foundation of part of that transformation is now the subject of an official ruling. CITY IS FIGHTING BACK Manchester City has rejected the findings. The club has maintained that it is innocent and has argued that the commission's opinion contains material errors of law, principle and fact. On October 1, 2026, City lodged its comprehensive appeal. The Premier League confirmed the appeal on October 2, saying it will be heard by an independent Appeal Board. The hearing will remain private and confidential until publication of the outcome is permitted. So the case is not legally finished. The independent commission has issued its findings, but the appeal process is now underway. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? The commission's findings establish the current first-instance position, but the punishment has not yet been determined. The Premier League says sanctions can include fines, points deductions and other sporting sanctions. The eventual outcome could therefore have consequences far beyond a financial penalty. For now, however, no final sporting sanction has been announced. Manchester City's appeal could also change the legal position. One thing is already clear: This is no longer just a story about expensive football transfers. It is a story about financial reporting, sponsorship structures, regulatory rules, alleged attempts to circumvent those rules, and the enormous amount of money that flowed through European football during Manchester City's rise. And with the appeal now officially underway, one of the biggest financial disputes in Premier League history is still not over.

MANCHESTER CITYโ€™S ยฃ900M FINANCIAL SCANDAL: WHERE DID THE MONEY GO? ๐Ÿ’ฐโšฝ
For years, Manchester Cityโ€™s transformation from a struggling Premier League club into one of the most powerful teams in world football was fueled by enormous spending.
Now, an independent commission has found that the club systematically breached Premier League financial rules for almost a decade.
And the numbers are staggering.
Between the 2009/10 and 2017/18 seasons, the commission found that Manchester City used arrangements that artificially increased reported revenues and reduced recorded costs by more than ยฃ900 million.
The Premier League says the club used what the commission described as โ€œshamโ€ commercial agreements that did not reflect the true arrangements between the parties.
According to the commission's findings, some sponsors were only required to pay part of their stated sponsorship fees, with the remainder funded by Abu Dhabi United Group Investment & Development Ltd, the entity that owned the club at the time.
The result was a financial picture that, according to the commission, made Manchester City appear more compliant with spending regulations than it actually was.
THE ยฃ900M QUESTION
This wasn't simply about spending too much money.
The commission found that the financial arrangements allowed City to inflate revenues and reduce costs on its accounts.
Had the relevant agreements been reported accurately, the commission concluded that Manchester City would have breached both Premier League and UEFA spending limits by a โ€œvery substantial amount.โ€
The Premier League also says City filed misstated accounts and concealed the true state of its finances from auditors and football regulators.
That distinction matters.
A club overspending within transparent accounts is one thing.
A regulatory system based on reported financial information becomes very different if those figures are deliberately distorted.
AND THEN THERE WAS THE INVESTIGATION
The controversy didn't end with the alleged financial arrangements.
The Premier League began investigating Manchester City in December 2018 and formally referred the case to an independent commission in February 2023.
The commission held a 42-day hearing, which concluded in December 2024.
The final decision found City guilty of multiple breaches relating to its failure to cooperate with the Premier League's investigation.
The league says three of four alleged cooperation breaches were upheld and that the commission concluded City had made โ€œconcerted effortsโ€ to stop or frustrate the investigation.
That created a second layer to the case:
The alleged financial misconduct โ€” and the conduct during the investigation into it.
WHERE DID THE MONEY GO?
THE BIGGER ISSUE
The case isn't simply about whether Manchester City spent a lot.
And that raises a much bigger question:
How much of modern football was shaped by money that regulators have now determined was improperly reported?
Manchester City's rise coincided with huge investments in players, wages, infrastructure and commercial growth.
Those investments helped create one of the dominant teams of the modern era.
But the commission's findings mean the financial foundation of part of that transformation is now the subject of an official ruling.
CITY IS FIGHTING BACK
Manchester City has rejected the findings.
One thing is already clear:
This is no longer just a story about expensive football transfers.

Bitcoin (BTC) is currently trading at around $83.5K, with a 3% dip potentially testing the resolve of two distinct holder groups as Q4 startsโ€”a historically strong quarter for BTC. Key points to consider: - BTC kicked off Q4 at approximately $83,550, following a remarkable 42.7% increase in Q3, its best performance since 2017 (CoinGlass). - The recent rally following PCE data lost steam at $85.6K, bringing BTC back into the $82K-$85K range. - An estimated $60M in long liquidations is hovering around the $83K mark, just above the critical support at $82.5K. - The average ETF cost basis lies between $81.7K-$82.2K, which raises concerns if prices dip below these levels. Consider these angles for further discussion: - Liquidations vs. ETF positions: How do leveraged long liquidations differ from ETF holder losses? Which poses a greater risk to market stability? - Pain levels: Examine the price points from $83K long positions to ETF bases and the 365-day MA near $80K. - Market dynamics: With open interest sharply down and funding rates near neutral (~3% annualized), does this create a safer market or shift risks to spot sellers? - Resistance levels: Analysis of why BTC often stalls at the $84K-$85K range, according to Glassnode data. - ETF holder behavior: Record inflows in late September have many new buyers at risk of losses. How could this impact their selling decisions? Which price support will hold strong? Stay tuned!

Uptober is back, and Bitcoin's history shows a rosy picture. Since 2013, BTC has recorded positive returns in October 10 out of 13 years, with a median return of 10.8%. The standout year was 2017, with gains nearing 48%. However, October 2025 broke the streak, ending with BTC above $126K, but in the red. Now, with BTC hovering around $85K, questions arise: - Is historical data still relevant after that break, or has "Uptober" lost its impact? - The three losing Octobers (2014, 2018, 2025) shared some notable traits. What could they be? - With average expected gains around 14-19%, where could BTC land by the month's end? Weโ€™re not making predictionsโ€”just opening the floor. THIS IS HOW I WOULD HUNT FOR A CRYPTO PROJECT TO SCAM โ—POV: You're the attacker. You don't start by stealing. You start by looking. You open the DeFi ecosystem and ask one question: โ€œWhere is the money, and how well is it protected?โ€ 1๏ธโƒฃ FIND A TARGET First, I would scan smaller DeFi protocols. I'm not necessarily looking for billions. I'm looking for projects where meaningful amounts of money are sitting behind relatively young or less-established infrastructure. It only tells me: There is money here. 2๏ธโƒฃ CHECK THE SECURITY Now I want to know how seriously the project takes security. Has the code been audited? Are the audits public? Sometimes the blockchain works perfectly. The problem is the code controlling the money. That's why before depositing into a DeFi protocol, ask: Who audited it? Who controls it? THIS IS HOW I WOULD HUNT FOR A CRYPTO PROJECT TO SCAM โ—

POV: You're the attacker.
You don't start by stealing.
You start by looking.
You open the DeFi ecosystem and ask one question:
โ€œWhere is the money, and how well is it protected?โ€
1๏ธโƒฃ FIND A TARGET
First, I would scan smaller DeFi protocols.
I'm not necessarily looking for billions.
I'm looking for projects where meaningful amounts of money are sitting behind relatively young or less-established infrastructure.
TVL tells me where capital is concentrated.
But TVL alone doesn't tell me whether something is vulnerable.
It only tells me:
There is money here.
2๏ธโƒฃ CHECK THE SECURITY
Now I want to know how seriously the project takes security.
Has the code been audited?
Are the audits public?
Does the project operate a bug bounty?
Has it experienced previous incidents?
Are security researchers actively reviewing the contracts?
The weaker the security history appears, the more interesting the project becomes from a research perspective.
3๏ธโƒฃ STUDY THE CONTRACT
Now I look at the machinery behind the protocol.
Smart contracts control the money.
So I want to understand how the system is supposed to work.
Where are funds deposited?
How are balances calculated?
Which contracts communicate with each other?
What external systems does the protocol trust?
I'm not looking for a button that says โ€œSTEAL.โ€
I'm looking for assumptions that could potentially be wrong.
4๏ธโƒฃ FIND THE TRUSTED PARTS
Every protocol has things it depends on.
Maybe it's an oracle.
Maybe it's another smart contract.
Maybe it's an administrator.
Maybe it's an upgrade mechanism.
Every dependency creates another part of the system that needs to be secure.
So I ask:
โ€œWhat happens if this component behaves unexpectedly?โ€
5๏ธโƒฃ LOOK AT PERMISSIONS
Next, I examine who has control.
Can contracts be upgraded?
Who can change important parameters?
Are privileged functions protected?
Is there a multisig?
Are emergency controls available?
A protocol can have sophisticated code and still have dangerous permissions.
6๏ธโƒฃ WATCH THE MONEY
Now I watch how the protocol behaves on-chain.
Large deposits.
Large withdrawals.
Liquidity movements.
Interactions between contracts.
Unusual transactions.
Blockchain activity is public, so the money trail can reveal a lot about how a system operates.
7๏ธโƒฃ FIND THE WEAK LINK
At this point, I'm trying to answer one question:
โ€œWhere could this system fail?โ€
It might be a coding mistake.
It might be an incorrect assumption.
It might be a permission problem.
It might be an insecure dependency.
And sometimes there is nothing there.
That's important too.
Not every unaudited protocol is exploitable.
8๏ธโƒฃ THE ATTACKER'S ADVANTAGE
The attacker only needs to find one serious weakness.
The developers have to protect the entire system.
That's the asymmetry.
One overlooked vulnerability can potentially put an entire pool of capital at risk.
And once an exploit becomes public, other people can discover it too.
9๏ธโƒฃ NOW FLIP THE PERSPECTIVE
Everything I just described can also be used by defenders.
A security researcher can ask the same questions.
A developer can review the same permissions.
An auditor can examine the same architecture.
A protocol can monitor the same on-chain activity.
The difference is the objective.
The attacker is looking for the door.
The security team is trying to make sure the door doesn't exist.
๐Ÿ’€ THE REAL LESSON
Crypto doesn't need to be โ€œhackedโ€ in the traditional sense for users to lose money.
Sometimes the blockchain works perfectly.
The problem is the code controlling the money.
That's why before depositing into a DeFi protocol, ask:
Who audited it?
Who controls it?
What does the contract depend on?
What happens if something goes wrong?
Because in DeFi, the attacker doesn't need to break the blockchain.
They only need to find a mistake in the code.
