Tonight, the real variable has landed: the US Nonfarm Payrolls for September came in at only 29,000.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will release employment data at 20:30. The new Nonfarm Payrolls were 29,000—significantly lower than the market expectation of 90,000; the unemployment rate rose to 4.2%, versus the expected 4.1%. After the data was released, BTC quickly surged from around $86,450 to nearly $87,230.
The fact is that cooling employment has weighed on market expectations that the Federal Reserve will continue tightening. This BTC rally looks more like an immediate repricing of macro interest-rate expectations. Next, more important than the first candlestick, is whether U.S. Treasury yields and spot liquidity can confirm this reaction.
Solana Foundation’s latest upgrade page shows that Alpenglow will replace the existing TowerBFT consensus. The goal is to compress finality time from about 12.8 seconds to 150 milliseconds. It is still in development and will move into testnet testing. The interesting part isn’t just “how many times faster.” If finality speed truly materializes, it will directly affect the experience of transactions, payments, and high-frequency on-chain applications. But testnet performance and mainnet launch are two different things. At this stage, it’s more important to watch stability and validator upgrade progress rather than assigning a price tag to the upgrade early. $SOL #solana #Alpenglow
