November 9th filings show that BlackRock has established a new iShares #Ethereum Trust entity in the state of Delaware. This could be a precursor to an exchange-traded fund (#etf ) for spot ether.

The Division of Corporations of the state has registered the entity, citing its formation date of November 9th. Daniel Schweiger is the registered agent, and his address is BlackRock in Wilmington, DE.

The organisation is known as the iShares #ETH trust, a BlackRock trademark.

BlackRock has already applied to the SEC to start a spot #BTC ETF and registered a Bitcoin trust in the same way in the past. Spot Ethereum ETF applications have been submitted to the SEC before, but none of them have been accepted yet.

Decisions regarding the applications from VanEck and ARK 21Shares were postponed by the SEC on September 27. These decisions are now due on December 25 or 26. Not long after, Invesco and Galaxy Digital submitted applications for spot ETH ETFs. On October 1st, Grayscale submitted an application to change its Grayscale Ethereum Trust into a spot ETF. BlackRock has not responded to the #cryptonews reports.
