Many retail investors have been brainwashed by influencers into thinking: Republicans win = huge bull market; Democrats win = huge bear market. In reality, this is a classic one-sided narrative—and one of the biggest traps for investors right now. But few people will tell you this: Polymarket odds priced in everything long ago. With just 10 days until the U.S. midterm elections, understanding how money is really positioning itself is key to what happens next in crypto. Ignore news-driven sentiment and loud opinions. Look only at how people are betting real money on Polymarket. It’s the most accurate gauge of market expectations across the internet. Latest live data (218 seats needed for a House majority): Democrats are projected to win 234 seats; Republicans, 201. Odds: Democrats 1.09x (high probability); Republicans 11.1x (extremely unlikely black swan). 90% of beginners fall into this trap: a high-probability event ≠ major bad news. It means the good news has already been fully priced in! The market has long since priced in the expectation of “Democratic control,” so when the result comes in, it will simply confirm expectations—not trigger a crash. Here’s the ultimate crypto market playbook for each of the three possible outcomes: Scenario 1: Democrats win control of both chambers (most likely) Crypto-friendly legislation and stablecoin initiatives come to a complete halt, while the SEC returns to a hard-line regulatory approach. This won’t lead to a major bear market, but the market’s narrative will shift completely: Trump-themed tokens, policy-driven altcoins, and meme coins all lose momentum; Capital flows back into fundamentally driven sectors with real-world traction, such as ZK, AI agents, and RWA. Scenario 2: A divided Congress (each party controls one chamber) Regulatory battles drag on, with no major policy tailwinds, while the broader market continues to trade sideways. Forget one-way bull or bear markets—there will only be opportunities from sector rotation, with a focus on real-world adoption over hype. Scenario 3: Republicans stage a comeback (an 11.1x black swan) Very few people across the market are positioned for this, making it a major upside surprise. If it happens, crypto regulations could ease, and policy-related tokens and Trump-linked coins could see a sharp short-term rebound. The key to making money in crypto has never been betting on news—it’s been betting on the gap between expectations and reality. The Pentagon just declared prediction markets a national-security risk. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth barred all Pentagon staff on Tuesday from trading on nonpublic information — classified or not — including wagers on Kalshi and Polymarket about upcoming military operations. "Our enemies watch movements in these markets," he wrote; "the lives of our service members often depend on the enemy not knowing what is coming." The trigger: Army soldier Gannon Ken Van Dyke's April indictment for allegedly turning classified advance knowledge of the operation that captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro into over $400,000 of Polymarket bets. He has pleaded not guilty. Israel made similar arrests in February. One caveat: the memo bans DoD insiders, not prediction markets themselves — Kalshi and Polymarket keep trading. But if the world's most informed traders are told to sit out, the order book loses its edge. Do these markets get dumber — or cleaner? NFA. DYOR. #CryptoNews #PredictionMarkets #Polymarket #Pentagon

Polymarket fires CMO: Those videos showing people “making a fortune on prediction markets” may have been paid-for setups According to the New York Post, Polymarket fired CMO Matthew Modabber after an internal investigation, though the company hasn’t officially confirmed it. The focus is on staged videos exposed by the WSJ in June: fake websites and fake profits. The CFTC is still investigating; no one has been convicted. Politico also found that over the course of a year, he personally sent more than $2.5 million via PayPal to over 800 people. At least 20 influencers took money and promoted Polymarket without disclosing that it was advertising. So when I come across a post showing someone “turning a 10x profit overnight” on a prediction market, my first thought is: How much were they paid for this? #Polymarket #预测市场

Being close to the CEO reportedly didn’t save Polymarket’s marketing chief. 😳 Matthew Modabber was reportedly ousted after an internal probe into several instances of misconduct, according to the New York Post, as reported by CoinDesk. The detail that makes me pause: he’s also a close friend of the CEO. For me, that puts accountability and personal ties in the same uncomfortable spotlight. Still, a reported dismissal isn’t a reason to speculate about the underlying allegations. 🔎 What would you want Polymarket to clarify first—the investigation process or its findings? #Polymarket #CryptoNews

Prediction markets have turned short-term sentiment into tradable contracts. According to reports, the notional trading volume of crypto-related contracts on Kalshi and Polymarket totaled around $2.7 billion last week, setting a record. Bets on Bitcoin’s price moves over 15-minute intervals were especially active. Capital is split between “directional bets” and “event bets”; leverage and settlement rules are more transparent than in spot markets, and sentiment can amplify them more easily. Reminder: Record trading volume signals rising participation, but it does not automatically confirm the start of a major rally. Short-term contracts are more like a sentiment gauge—when volatility increases, first consider whether you can handle the settlement pace before deciding whether to follow the crowd. #BTC #预测市场 #Kalshi #Polymarket

Polymarket fired its CMO, Matthew Modabber. The people who should be most concerned are the ones still farming the POLY airdrop. According to the New York Post, he’d been there since January 2024 and was a close ally of 28-year-old CEO Coplan. In June, his team was accused of setting up a fake website and promoting videos claiming users could make money trading—when the trades were fake. The CFTC is already investigating. There are also claims that the money went through a personal PayPal account. Here’s the most ironic part: he was the one who previously confirmed that a POLY token and airdrop were coming. Now the person who made that statement is gone, and the company hasn’t added a word. A roundup of the odds on X puts the chance of a token launching by year-end at just around 3%. A platform that makes its living on “markets pricing in the truth” used staged videos about making money for its marketing. Do you really expect its airdrop promises to be any more real than its ads? I’ll keep using prediction markets, but as for the airdrop narrative, I’m treating it as worthless. #Polymarket

I just finished an all-nighter, watched this, and now I’m wide awake— Polymarket fired its chief marketing officer, Matthew Modabber. He was CEO Shayne Coplan’s childhood friend—they’d been close since high school. Here’s what happened: In June, The Wall Street Journal revealed that Modabber’s team had built a fake website and used fabricated trading screenshots to make videos showing “users making money” and drive traffic. More than 1,100 videos, $1.9 million in simulated bets, $900,000 in fake profits, and 140 million views across the internet. The CFTC opened an investigation, and there’s still no conclusion. The board is rushing toward an IPO and thought he’d damaged the company’s image, so they voted to fire him. The most dramatic part was Coplan’s reaction: at first, he was furious and threatened to fire the entire legal team that pushed for Modabber’s dismissal. Later, he finally admitted it: his friend or the IPO—he had to choose one. A platform where the whole world bets on what’s true or false built its own traffic strategy on an act. 【🚨 Polymarket Fires CEO’s Close Friend! False Profit Claims Spark Controversy, Testing Its Path to an IPO?】 [⚖️ 加入X先生的粉丝群聊跟进行情](https://app.binance.com/uni-qr/MwYFhLo4) Prediction market platform Polymarket is embroiled in another controversy. Media reports say Polymarket has dismissed its chief marketing officer, Matthew Modabber. What’s drawing even more attention is that he was not only an early employee, but also a close friend of CEO Shayne Coplan. 📌 Why did this lead to an executive being fired? One trigger was the previously exposed promotion of fake trading activity. A Wall Street Journal investigation in June found that influencers had used imitation websites to make videos pretending to place bets on Polymarket and earn huge profits, leading viewers to believe those gains came from real trades. The promotions reportedly involved more than 1,100 videos and prompted an investigation by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Media reports have also said that internal reviews covered issues such as payments for influencer promotions and the disclosure of business partnerships. However, the regulatory investigation is ongoing, and it is not yet possible to conclude that any related violations have been established. ⚠️ The real question is whether the platform can establish trustworthy rules. Polymarket has surged in popularity in recent years, allowing users to bet on elections, sporting events, and a wide range of real-world outcomes. But the more attention prediction markets attract, the more important it becomes to ensure that promotions are truthful, trading is fair, and financial relationships are transparent. If a platform attracts users with exaggerated stories of profits, it may gain traffic in the short term, but in the long run it could undermine user trust and invite greater regulatory scrutiny. As Polymarket seeks to raise more capital, expand its business, and potentially go public, investors will also pay closer attention to its compliance framework and internal management. 🔥 The real question is: Can Polymarket evolve from a fast-growing startup into a platform that can withstand scrutiny from regulators and the market? Competition in prediction markets is about more than trading volume and user growth—it is also a contest of transparency, credibility, and long-term governance. #Polymarket

Prediction market platform Polymarket is embroiled in another controversy.

$BTC —let’s put that aside. This Polymarket drama is pretty interesting. The head of marketing got fired, and the guy was a close friend of the CEO. The CEO started by taking action against one of his own. Either it’s for show, or his friend really did a terrible job with marketing. I’m leaning toward it being for show—when the regulators come knocking, they can say they even fire their own people. What do you think: is the boss too ruthless, or did the friend slack off first? Place your bets. #Polymarket #CryptoCircleGossip

The biggest joke in prediction markets: they couldn’t even predict what would happen to one of their own jobs—Polymarket fired its CMO. The New York Post reported exclusively on October 22 that, according to sources, chief marketing officer Matthew Modabber, who joined the company in January 2024, has been fired following an internal investigation. (The following is based on public reports; some claims circulating online remain unverified.) The investigation focused on work by his team: they were accused of creating a fake website and staging videos of users “making money through fake trades” to use in promotional materials. After the Wall Street Journal exposed the story in June, the CFTC launched an investigation. It hasn’t found any violations so far—but investors are already sweating. Here’s the juiciest part: Modabber is longtime best friends with 28-year-old CEO Shayne Coplan—they went to high school together. The Post says Coplan initially tried to protect his friend, even threatening to fire the legal staff who pushed for the dismissal. Later, he reportedly “accepted that parting ways was the best option.” Friends are friends, but an IPO is an IPO. To me, this saga is more entertaining than a candlestick chart: a company that rose to fame by “predicting” things ultimately stumbled over its ability to “read people.” America’s youngest billionaire, at 28, couldn’t even save his childhood friend from getting the boot—lesson one in capitalism: everyone has to pay their dues. What do you think—is this a case of doing the right thing, even when it hurts, or a boardroom coup? $BTC $ETH #Polymarket #PredictionMarkets

Just came across a New York Post exclusive: prediction market Polymarket has fired its chief marketing officer, Matthew Modabber—the one who was close to CEO Shayne Coplan—after an internal investigation. The key details: Fake websites previously promoted “staged profit” videos (exposed by the WSJ in June; the CFTC is still investigating). More than $2.5 million was also routed through his personal PayPal account, including at least around $350,000 paid to content creators for promotions without the required disclosures. He was the company’s 11th employee and led a marketing team of more than 50. The board—which includes Coplan, Nick Tomaino, lawyer Alex Spiro, and others—wanted to project a more mainstream image, potentially ahead of an IPO, and ultimately decided to replace him. A company spokesperson declined to comment; no formal finding of wrongdoing has been made. For prediction markets to grow up, they need to clean up their marketing first. #Polymarket #PredictionMarkets

I scanned 3,000 Polymarket markets and couldn't find a single arbitrage opportunity. I just finished a live test run, using data entirely from real-time order books: 1) YES + NO in a single market Across about 3,000 active binary markets, buy both YES and NO, and you’re guaranteed to receive $1 at resolution. The best cost was $1.001, or -0.10%. Every result was negative. Zero opportunities. 2) Full baskets in multi-outcome events For 1,145 negRisk events, I calculated the VWAP using the ask ladders for all YES legs: Mississauga mayoral election (7 legs) +5.46% → +0.08% three minutes later Israel foreign minister pick (15 legs) +4.02% → +0.09% Who will list a stock first (5 legs) +3.48% → +0.52% January FOMC (5 legs) +0.95% → +0.06% The price gaps I found disappeared within three minutes, which suggests bots are watching. The remaining “edge” is just quote noise caused by thin order-book depth; once you account for gas, it’s gone. 3) Cross-platform: Polymarket vs. Kalshi October FOMC: PM unchanged at 0.94/0.95, Kalshi at 0.93/0.94. A one-tick spread isn’t enough to cover Kalshi’s taker fee of 0.07×p×(1-p). One apparent “opportunity” of around 23% was actually a question of interpreting the rules: “one more rate hike in 2026” versus the “number of rate hikes in 2026” basket for 1 or more hikes. The former means “one additional hike,” while the latter means the total number for the year. The numbers do line up; it’s not arbitrage. Misunderstanding this could cost you dearly. Bottom line: By 2026, risk-free arbitrage is basically the domain of market makers and latency bots. Retail traders have only three types of opportunities left, and all require infrastructure: · Latency capture: monitor via WebSocket and place an order when you see a basket drop to 0.98; no need to predict direction · negRisk conversion: wait for a news shock to briefly throw a basket out of balance · Cross-platform inventory hedging: you need capital on both platforms, and the profit is just a few dozen basis points #预测市场 #Polymarket #Arbitrage

People talk bull market, but their money is voting otherwise. On Polymarket, the odds of falling below key levels by December 31 are: 31.5% for dropping below 0,000, 13.5% for falling below 0,000, and even 7.5% for plunging to 0,000—with real money on the line. In other words, one in three degens thinks we could see a 7-handle by year-end. Don’t laugh at the market for talking out of both sides of its mouth—September CPI came in scorching, oil is at 10, and the Fed’s October 28 meeting is looming. Prediction markets have never been about slogans; they’re about exposing real fear. Will year-end bring a Santa rally or a total mess? The casino is open. Which side are you betting on? / #Polymarket #PredictionMarket
