22% of Americans have owned or used crypto. 9% know it well. That’s what I’d put in the headline. This is from a new Ipsos poll commissioned by the DeFi Education Foundation. It came out two weeks before the midterm elections, so I’m reading it with that caveat. But the headlines pulled out something else: “Crypto support trails financial innovation by 22 points.” Those are points between responses, not people from the first line. And they compared different questions: 35% — “for fintech to be built in the U.S.,” 26% on rules for innovation, 13% on blockchain, crypto, and DeFi. In short, honestly — 26 versus 13. They also didn’t ask “are you for or against it,” but how important it is in a candidate. Only 5% trust decentralized platforms. That’s the main number for me, not the election stuff. In my view, trust won’t come from politics, but from fewer people losing their deposits to hacks. Agree, or is that naive? #Ipsos #defi #CryptoSurvey #Midterms #USPolitics
