A breakout is not confirmation just because the candle looks impressive.
Before trusting a breakout, ask:
โข Did price close beyond a meaningful resistance level? โข Is volume supporting the move? โข Does the retest hold, or does price immediately fall back into the range? โข Where is the setup invalidated?
None of these signals guarantees success. They simply help you build a more structured decision instead of chasing every green candle.
The market doesn't owe anyone a continuation.
What's your personal rule for confirming a breakout? I'd like to hear approaches beyond the usual โwait for confirmation.โ
Ethereum could be the interesting chart to watch โ but don't ignore Bitcoin.
When analysing $ETH, I don't look at its dollar price alone. I also watch how Ethereum performs relative to $BTC.
Here's why this matters:
๐ If ETH starts outperforming BTC, it may indicate improving relative strength.
๐ If BTC rises while ETH continues to underperform, that tells a different story.
โ ๏ธ If the broader market weakens, even a promising ETH setup can fail.
My checklist: โข Compare ETH/BTC structure. โข Identify important support and resistance. โข Look for confirmation on the timeframe I'm trading. โข Set a clear invalidation level before considering an entry.
I'm not calling an immediate rally. I'm looking for evidence before making a decision.
Do you think ETH will outperform BTC in the next major market move? Why?
