Trump just promised every adult American $5,000 if Republicans keep the House and Senate. Cost: ~$1.2–1.35 trillion. Cue the “stimulus is back, Bitcoin to the moon” posts.
Here’s the actual picture:
The 2020–21 run wasn’t just checks. It was lockdowns + zero rates + QE + a much smaller crypto market. Cleveland Fed research later found stimulus lifted BTC buy volume ~3.8% around payment dates — but only about 0.02% of the money actually went into crypto. Most people paid bills or saved it.
This time: • It’s a campaign promise, not a law • Congress still has to appropriate it • Funding is vague (“tariffs”) • The economy is not in free-fall • Inflation and a $40T+ debt stock are already live problems • Bitcoin’s buyer base is now ETFs and institutions, not just retail depositing a check
Could some of it leak into crypto if it ever ships? Sure. Enough to clone the 2021 blow-off? Unlikely.
Headline first. Legislation later. Don’t confuse the two.
You said $BTC was going lower, you're waiting for the $40k
Now you're watching it from the sidelines, telling yourself you'll buy the next dip. You won't because there are no more dips and we're already in a bull market 😂
The hardest part of investing isn't knowing what to buy, it's having the balls to buy when everyone else is expecting an imaginary target and waiting for something that will never happen
12,000 wallets lost $6.4M on Hunter Biden’s $LAPTOP .
80% of buyers got wrecked in under an hour.
Who sold into them?
Airdrop farmers claiming 4,276 free tokens and dumping instantly. Wintermute offloading a 2.5M allocation. Snipers who bought the open and flipped $250k into $1.1M in minutes.
“Fair launch.” $48k of liquidity. A $144B FDV print.
Same movie as every political memecoin. Retail is the exit liquidity. Don’t FOMO the ticker.
Bitcoin can move thousands of dollars while you're still reading yesterday's headline. And in crypto, following the wrong account can mean confusing a rumor with real news.
So how can you stay updated without spending your entire day scrolling?
Here’s a simple 4-step crypto news routine 👇
🔹 1. Start with the original source If you see a major announcement about Bitcoin, XRP, Ethereum, an ETF, or regulation, find the company, exchange, government agency, or filing behind the headline.
🔹 2. Check market data📊 Don't look at price alone. Watch volume, market cap, liquidity and broader market direction. One green candle doesn't automatically mean a trend has changed.
🔹 3. Follow U.S. regulatory news 🇺🇸 For American crypto investors, developments from agencies such as the SEC and CFTC can be important. Regulation can influence exchanges, tokens, ETFs and how digital assets are treated.
🔹 4. Don't trust “BREAKING” blindly⚠️ Crypto social media is full of predictions, rumors and recycled headlines. Before sharing—or making a financial decision—ask: Where is the original source?
💡 You don't need 100 crypto accounts.
You need a small group of reliable sources + good verification habits.
Because the goal isn't to know EVERYTHING happening in crypto.
It's knowing what actually matters.
