The Cardano Foundation announced the mainnet launch of CIP-0113 on October 7, enabling issuers to freeze, seize and restrict native tokens on-chain. The controls apply only to tokens whose issuers adopt the standard, and ADA itself is not freezable. The standard targets stablecoins, tokenized funds and other regulated assets. ADA traded at $0.253, down 8.71% over the past 24 hours, as a broader cryptocurrency market decline deepened the drop.
Cramer says Goldman's $230 SpaceX target shows earlier forecast was not guesswork
Jim Cramer says Goldman Sachs' $10 increase in its SpaceX price target to $230 shows the earlier $220 target was not guesswork. Goldman's note cites higher expected AI capacity, revenue and margins. Cramer says SpaceX's prospects could develop faster than Tesla's, but SpaceX does not suit Cramer's Charitable Trust. Reuters reported that SpaceX's $40 billion Nvidia chip plan involves bank loans and investment-grade debt. However, Bloomberg sources say the talks are preliminary and may not produce a deal.

Jim Bianco turns bullish on bonds, calling 5% Treasury yields fair value
Jim Bianco, president of Bianco Research and a bond bear for six years, has turned bullish on bonds as Treasury yields reach what Bianco calls fair value. Bianco says yields across five- to 30-year maturities all stand at 5% or higher, a first in two decades. Bianco argues that higher yields reflect normal rates rather than a broken market. Bianco is adding bond exposure gradually because Bianco says the selloff may continue. Companies that refinanced at lower rates five years ago could face higher costs when that debt matures.
Vitalik Buterin warns AI could weaken lattice cryptography within two years
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin warned that AI-driven mathematical breakthroughs could weaken lattice-based cryptography within two years. Such breakthroughs could also break the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) behind Bitcoin and ETH wallets sooner than expected. Ethereum researcher Justin Drake said ECDSA could break within months in the worst case. However, Buterin said nobody should rush to move funds today. Buterin advised keeping funds in addresses that have never sent a transaction, if that is easy to do. Drake said Ethereum's roadmap timelines must be revisited and accelerated.

Vitalik Buterin says AI could weaken cryptography within two years
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said AI progress in mathematics over the next two years could significantly weaken the practical security of lattice cryptography. Buterin said ECDSA could also be broken sooner than expected. Buterin recommended prioritizing hash-based cryptography where feasible and using more conservative security parameters for lattice cryptography. Buterin does not recommend immediate large-scale asset migration because migration operations also carry risks.
Ethereum researcher warns AI could break wallet security before quantum computers
Ethereum researcher Justin Drake warned that AI could break cryptocurrency wallet cryptography before sufficiently powerful quantum computers become available, potentially within months in the worst case. Drake recommended a gradual, controlled migration of assets to fresh addresses, starting with large and sophisticated crypto holders. Fresh addresses conceal public keys behind cryptographic hashes, reducing exposure to attacks that require knowledge of public keys. However, Drake warned that a rushed migration would do more harm than good.
