🚨 The Binance Hack: What We Know So Far

📅 What happened
On Oct 29, starting around 20:05 UTC, attackers drained Binance hot wallets across 10 blockchains, including Ethereum, Bitcoin, Tron, XRP Ledger, Solana, Arbitrum, Base and Polygon. Most of it left in about 20 minutes.

💰 How much
TRM Labs counts ~$6.36B. Binance estimates ~$6.3B total impact. This is the largest crypto theft on record, about 4x the Bybit hack ($1.5B, Feb 2025).

🕵️ Who
TRM Labs, Chainalysis and Elliptic point to North Korea's TraderTraitor group. Chainalysis cites stolen funds mixing with the earlier Bitget exploit. No government has officially confirmed this yet.

🛡️ The response
• ~$3B reportedly frozen on-chain
• Binance says it will cover the losses
• Investigation widened after more breaches were found
• Withdrawals are targeted to resume soon (check official Binance channels)
