China added more solar in ONE year than the US has installed in total
2025 solar:
• China added 315 GW. The US added 34 GW • China’s total solar capacity: 1,202 GW… half the world’s • China solar generation: 1,175 TWh vs US 389 TWh • China produced 42% of all the solar electricity on Earth
Back in 2015, China and the US generated almost the same amount of solar power
Starlink is helping bring reliable internet to rural 4-H programs in Iowa 🇺🇸
Iowa has received 10 Starlink kits for communities where broadband access is still limited
The kits will support:
• Robotics programs • STEM education • Online learning • Digital and workforce skills for rural students
The 10 Iowa kits are part of a larger 100-kit national program from Starlink, Tractor Supply and 4-H… with Starlink providing both the kits and the service
And every eligible Starlink kit bought through Tractor Supply sends the first month’s subscription value straight to 4-H programs
SpaceX's next big move could shake up not just AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, but even Apple and Samsung
Wall Street is starting to realize just how massive Elon Musk's ambitions for Starlink Mobile have become
SpaceX just announced an agreement to acquire nationwide 800 MHz spectrum, bringing it closer to building a mobile network that combines satellites in space with traditional cellular infrastructure on the ground
And now analysts are looking at an even bigger possibility
Gene Munster believes SpaceX could eventually develop its own Starlink smartphone, despite Elon previously saying he doesn't want to make one
Think about what that would mean
SpaceX would control the satellites, spectrum, mobile network and potentially even the smartphone itself
A fully integrated system could offer unique connectivity features, eliminate coverage gaps and potentially deliver cheaper mobile service
AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile would face a serious new competitor, while Apple and Samsung could find themselves competing with SpaceX in the smartphone market
And the wild part is that SpaceX doesn't even need to build its own phone to start disrupting the telecom industry
Elon is building an entirely new kind of mobile network, and the implications are really enormous
When Elon Musk started SpaceX, one of his closest friends sat him down and made him watch a compilation of rockets exploding… just to talk him out of it
The industry had a running joke:
“How do you make a small fortune in the rocket business? Start with a large one”
Elon knew how hard it was and he gave SpaceX maybe a 10–20% chance of success… and did it anyway
The first three Falcon 1 launches failed
Then the fourth reached orbit
Today SpaceX lands and reuses orbital rockets like it’s routine, flies astronauts on Dragon, runs 11,000+ Starlink satellites… and Starship just reached orbit for the first time
The company everyone expected to fail now launches most of the world’s mass to orbit
And it’s building the ship to take humanity to Mars
The odds were terrible. He tried anyway
That’s the difference between an impossible idea and a civilization-changing one
SpaceX has become an SI compute giant in plain sight
And when you put its major compute deals together, the scale gets ridiculous:
• Anthropic → $1.25B/month → ~$15B annualized • Google → $920M/month → ~$11B annualized • Reflection AI → $150M/month (reported) → ~$1.8B annualized • New unnamed hosting customer → $1.11B/month from Dec 1 → ~$13.3B annualized
Those FOUR deals alone represent:
$3.43 BILLION per month
$41.16 BILLION in annualized compute revenue once all four run at full rate in December
$41 BILLION.....from just four compute and hosting deals
And that’s not even the entire compute business
SpaceX has separately contracted another $6.7 BILLION of cloud-services revenue over a six-month period, with capacity beginning to ramp in October
And with another MASSIVE hosting deal just closed, CFO Bret Johnsen said SpaceX is on track for a $100 BILLION annualized revenue run-rate across the whole company by the end of this year
SpaceX started by building rockets
Now it runs multiple enormous businesses on top of the same engineering and infrastructure machine
Less than one hour until launch and another Falcon 9 is already lined up to fly 🚀
SpaceX is preparing to launch SDA’s fourth Tranche 1 mission from Vandenberg, California
• 21 Northrop Grumman-built satellites • Part of the U.S. military’s next-generation low-Earth-orbit network • Designed to strengthen secure communications and missile tracking • Weather is 80% favorable • Propellant loading begins shortly • Booster flying for the 6th time • Landing attempt back at Vandenberg
Another national security mission Another Falcon 9 ready to go
SpaceX is once again stepping up to help people affected by natural disasters ❤️
Following the earthquake in Panama, SpaceX is providing FREE Starlink internet service through November 10 to customers in affected areas
SpaceX is also offering free replacements for damaged Starlink kits
And through its partner +Móvil, Starlink Mobile is enabling satellite SMS nationwide for 48 hours in areas without traditional cellular coverage, helping people stay connected with their loved ones
When disasters strike and traditional networks fail, Starlink becomes a lifeline for people who need help the most
This is why Starlink is such an important, life-saving technology ❤️
Many people don't realize SpaceX is already building the industrial infrastructure to manufacture up to 1,000 Starships per year
The scale is totally insane
Starfactory at Starbase is designed to eventually produce up to 1,000 Starships every year
And SpaceX is now building two enormous GigaBays to integrate and refurbish these massive rockets:
→ One at Starbase, Texas → One at Kennedy Space Center, Florida
The Florida GigaBay alone will have:
• 380 feet of height • 815,000 sq ft of workspace • 46.5 MILLION cubic feet of interior space • 24 Starship/Super Heavy work cells • Cranes capable of lifting 400 tons • More than 11X the workspace of SpaceX's current Megabay
And SpaceX is already planning a Starfactory-style manufacturing facility in Florida too
SpaceX is turning Starship into a mass-produced, rapidly reusable transportation system
When you see Starship next to these enormous buildings, the scale finally hits you
@spaceandtime #SXT Textbooks give a simplified version: Britain sold opium, poisoning the Chinese people; Lin Zexu banned opium, and Britain went to war. The real story is much more complicated. The root cause of the war was trade; opium was just the trigger. The Qing court allowed foreign trade only through Guangzhou, and even then it had to go through the Hong merchants as middlemen. Tea and silk could be sold freely, but British goods couldn’t get in, so silver poured into China. During the Qianlong reign, 16.4 million taels flowed in over ten years. Britain was a gold-standard country, and silver
Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India.
Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete?
There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better.
Thank you 🙏
