CPI just came out, and almost the entire U.S. stock market is in the red.
$NVDAB down 2.68%, $AMDB down 5.27%, $METAB down 3.29%—tech stocks are seeing some pretty heavy selling. Looking at this heatmap, risk-off sentiment is very clear, and there’s no sign of things calming down yet.
Do you think U.S. stocks will recover during today’s session, or stay in the red?
$ICP OBV is lower than it was three days ago. The two-timeframe context cannot be ignored.
Current: $2,912 24-hour change: down sharply by 6.16%. OBV on the daily candle closed lower than it was three days ago. Over the past three days, volume from down days has outweighed volume from up days.
The 4-hour momentum is weaker; the daily trend remains upward.
A 4-hour candle closing below $2,816 would indicate that support has not held.
SOL has something noteworthy happen every 120 days
Looking back at chart $SOL , I noticed a rather interesting cycle: roughly every 120 days, a notable point appears around a short- or medium-term high or low.
What’s interesting is that the highs and lows don’t necessarily alternate. Sometimes two highs appear in a row, and sometimes the lows come one after another.
In particular, the four most recent orange points are all noteworthy, as price reversed after each one. Of course, this is only an observation based on past data; it doesn’t mean the cycle will repeat exactly.
Counting from the most recent high, the next 120-day mark falls on 01/02/2027.
What do you think—will SOL make a new high or find a new low around then?
Tether paid about $6.3 million to company co-founded by former White House crypto adviser Bo Hines: clear conflict of interest?
According to a Wall Street Journal investigation, Tether (the issuer of USDT, which accounts for ~60% of the stablecoin market) transferred about $6.3 million to Nxum—a consulting firm co-founded by Bo Hines, who owns a one-third stake—under an agreement dating back to May 2025. The first payment was made while Hines was still serving as Executive Director of the White House Digital Assets Council (January–August 2025), directly advancing the GENIUS Act (federal stablecoin legislation signed by Trump in July 2025).
Notably, Signal messages show Hines remained in a group chat with his partners, discussing progress and the law’s talking points while the partners were in contact with Tether’s CEO. After the law passed, Hines left the White House and was appointed CEO of Tether’s US division (USAT—a stablecoin compliant with the GENIUS Act).
Nxum denies that Hines knew about or participated in the transaction while in public service, describing his involvement as passive investment only. However, this sequence of events (payments → legislation benefiting Tether → immediate hiring afterward) raises questions about a revolving door and serious conflicts of interest, particularly given Tether’s close ties to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s Cantor Fitzgerald.
This is a textbook example of how crypto industry interests and US policy intertwine under Trump.
Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan: All macroeconomic roads lead to $BTC higher prices
Matt Hougan (Bitwise CIO) just posted a memo arguing that nearly every macroeconomic scenario ends with Bitcoin higher. He uses a “Choose Your Own Adventure” analogy: whether the Fed raises interest rates and pushes the economy into recession, keeps rates steady and lets inflation stay high, an AI boom creates superabundance, or the AI bubble bursts and triggers a crisis—the long-term outcome still favors Bitcoin.
The core logic has three paths:
Money and credit expand faster than real growth → scarce assets (with fixed supply) win. Extremely high AI-driven productivity → things that cannot be replicated (Bitcoin, gold, land) command a premium. A stable environment → Bitcoin continues to gain a larger share of asset allocations, thanks to ETFs, institutions, and corporate and government balance sheets.
He acknowledges that Bitcoin won’t rise in a straight line: many scenarios include a sharp correction first (for example, it fell 50% during COVID in 2020, then rose about 20-fold). This is a long-term bullish view from the head of investments at a major crypto fund, with no specific price target.
Yesterday, after the CPI data came in quite badly, the price plunged to around 80k3 and immediately bounced back up. It is now ranging between 80k3 and 80k6.
On the H1 chart, sellers still have the upper hand. However, the 80k3 support zone is key in determining whether the price can hold this level.
My trading strategy
Scenario 1: If BTC forms a clear H1 candle close below 80k3, I won’t rush into a trade right away. Instead, I’ll wait for the price to rebound and retest the lost 80k3 level. If there’s confirmation that selling pressure is returning, I’ll consider a scalp toward 79k.
Scenario 2: If BTC holds above 80k3 and there’s confirmation that buying pressure is returning, I’ll look for an opportunity to trade the rebound. However, since the H1 structure is still bearish, I won’t rush to catch the bottom without clear confirmation.
Also, PPI data is due tonight, so consider managing your risk and prioritizing observation of the price reaction around 80k3!
Do you think BTC will break below 80k3, or will it hold this level?
⚠️$BTC ONLY A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS AWAY FROM ETF COST BASIS
The price is currently around $81.5K, right at the average cost basis of US Spot ETFs.
But buying pressure is quite weak: • From 7–15/10, ETFs saw nearly $750M in net outflows • Spot volume remains low • The largest buy wall on CEXs* is lower, around $80K
Meanwhile, there’s a sizable cluster of long liquidations just below $80K. BTC may test the $80K area first rather than bounce straight back to $85K. If it closes the day below $80K, the True Market Mean around $78K is next.
After last night's CPI news, BTC made a sharp move down from 83K to 81.3K. The current price is around 81.8K.
Main scenario: Overall, it's moving sideways near the lower edge of the range, around 80K–81K, and is still trying to defend support in this psychological zone.
Personally, I still think it could drop to 80K one more time and scare everyone a little more.
This morning's liquidation of longs and shorts wasn't enough for ETH to sweep down to the major liquidation level at $2290. The current price is around $2360.
Main scenario: if you've threatened to kill them, you have to finish the job before you can move on, right?
So personally, I still think the price needs to be pushed down to wipe out all the longs around $2290 first.
"I don't think there'll be a crypto bull run cycle like in the past. The global economy is fucked up as hell: energy supply shocks, a food crisis in the Global South, chaos, wars everywhere. All of this will make people wonder what the hell is going on."
I think this is how a lot of people feel. It's not just U.S. bonds—European countries and U.S. allies are also seeing long-term yields hit highs. In other words, bonds are going up in flames, and all the economic data points to a very high chance of an economic crisis similar to 2008–2009.
The economic data is one thing, but the AI bubble hanging over our heads is bringing back memories for many of the haunting dot-com bubble of the early 2000s.
In short, everything is going so badly it feels like the apocalypse, and everyone's waiting for a black swan, because anything that happens in this tense period could be the spark that sets off a ticking time bomb.
What do you guys think—will $BTC break 87K first, or drop to 75K first?
Can I turn off the internet on an iPhone and use it as a cold wallet holding $BTC ? 🧐
Yes, but most people are getting a few important things wrong. 5 things to know if you’re planning to store crypto on an iPhone:
First, turning off the internet only blocks remote hackers. Someone holding the phone can still access its data. U.S. Customs inspects more than 55,000 devices a year, and they ask people to turn off the internet before an inspection, not after.
Second, don’t store your recovery phrase in Photos or Notes, even if the phone is offline. Once the device is unlocked, those files can be read immediately.
Third, turning off the screen isn’t the same as powering down. After you’ve unlocked the phone once, some encryption keys remain in RAM even after you lock the screen again. For maximum security, power the device off completely when storing it.
Fourth, a 6-digit passcode could be cracked in about 11 hours under the worst-case conditions. A random 12-character alphanumeric password would take trillions of years. Use a password that’s long enough and truly random—not your birthday or phone number.
Fifth, if you want to use an iPhone as a cold wallet, you’ll need at least an iPhone 17. This generation of chips adds a hardware memory-protection layer that older phones can’t get, even with a software update. You should also switch to a new device every one to two years.
BTC has now returned to the key support zone at 80K3.
At this level, I’m prioritizing looking for a short entry toward 79k6, with a stop-loss at 81k9. After CPI, Gold broke decisively below the previous support zone. I still prefer waiting for pullbacks to look for short entries rather than chasing the price lower.
Levels to watch: 416x–417x: Stronger resistance
Target: 406x If 406x is lost, the further target remains 397x.
U.S. CPI EXCEEDS FORECAST, FINANCIAL MARKETS TURN RED ACROSS THE BOARD
U.S. CPI rose to 3.7%, higher than the 3.6% forecast. The news immediately put pressure on markets as investors worried that inflation remains persistent, making it difficult for the Fed to ease monetary policy.
The market capitalization losses reported in widely circulating statistics are staggering:
U.S. stocks: approximately $1.2 trillion Japanese stocks: approximately $300 billion South Korean stocks: approximately $220 billion
$XAUT and $XAG : some reports put the losses as high as $1 trillion, with around $350 billion said to have evaporated in just the first five minutes of trading. $BTC : down around $2,000, but the decline needs to be compared as a percentage to determine which asset was hit harder.
Every market has its own risks. Invest within your means, everyone—if you still have money, you can always start over.
$BTC After two tests of the resistance zone around $87K, a correction has begun..
With yesterday’s 3D candle closing as a hammer with a long lower wick, Bitcoin has essentially entered a corrective phase after a recovery rally that lasted more than three months.
To determine whether BTC will continue correcting in the medium term, we’ll need to wait until the end of this week and see how the weekly candle closes..
