$SOL is boxed in. Equal lows near $100.5 hold it up, a 4-hour supply zone at $111.7 to $113.4 caps it, and a network upgrade lands in a few hours.
On the chart, price is at $106.5, mid-range. The $100.5 low has been tested twice, on October 15 and again on the 19th, and a daily demand zone sits beneath it from about $99 down. That area also lines up with the 200-day EMA near $98, which is why buyers keep showing up there. Overhead, SOL just wicked above the $107.5 swing high and closed back under it, a failed push that leaves the range intact.
The two outcomes are clean. A daily close below $100 would open the $92 to $88 area, and BeInCrypto points to a head-and-shoulders target near $80. A close above $108 puts the $112 supply zone back in play, the same area where CryptoQuant’s volume map first turned hot as price rolled over.
What stands out to me is the mix of signals. US spot SOL ETFs have bled through most of October, with the 7-day average near minus 40,000 SOL a day, the deepest of 2026. Yet tokenized assets on Solana have doubled to about $4.4B since May. Flows say demand for the token is soft, while usage says the chain is growing.
Alpenglow is scheduled for around 15:00 UTC today, targeting roughly 150 ms finality versus about 12.8 seconds now. The counter-argument is that 150 ms is a target, mainnet performance is unproven, and upgrades often trade as sell-the-news. The October 28 Fed meeting also sits on top of all this.
