The ATH (All-Time High) indicator helps traders identify when an asset reaches the highest price in its entire trading history. An ATH is an important market level because it often attracts strong attention from traders, investors, and algorithms.
When Bitcoin, Ethereum, or another asset approaches its ATH, several scenarios are possible. A successful breakout above the previous high can signal strong bullish momentum and may lead to price discovery, where the market moves into levels with no historical resistance.
However, an ATH does not automatically mean the price will continue rising. Traders often take profits near major highs, which can cause sharp corrections or false breakouts. For this reason, ATH levels are usually combined with other tools such as volume, RSI, moving averages, support and resistance, and market structure.
High trading volume during an ATH breakout can make the move more convincing. Low volume may indicate weaker demand and a higher risk of reversal.
The ATH indicator is especially useful for trend traders because it provides a simple way to identify major historical price levels and evaluate the strength of a bullish market.
ATH is not a buy signal by itself — it is a key level that should be analyzed together with price action and risk management.

Solana began in 2017 with a late-night idea. Anatoly Yakovenko, a former Qualcomm engineer who had spent over a decade on wireless protocols and distributed systems, wondered why blockchains were so slow. His insight was that nodes wasted enormous effort agreeing not just on transactions, but on time itself. If a network could prove that time had passed without every validator checking with every other one, throughput could jump dramatically.
He described the idea in a whitepaper introducing Proof of History: a cryptographic clock built from a sequential hash function that timestamps events before consensus even begins. Combined with Proof of Stake, it let validators process transactions in parallel instead of waiting in line.
Yakovenko recruited former Qualcomm colleagues Greg Fitzgerald and Stephen Akridge, who turned the concept into working code, first in C and later in Rust. Raj Gokal, with a background in product and finance, joined as co-founder to run operations. The project was originally called Loom, but was renamed to avoid confusion with an existing Ethereum project. The new name came from Solana Beach, a small town north of San Diego where the founders had lived.
Solana Labs launched the mainnet beta in March 2020, while the non-profit Solana Foundation was set up in Switzerland to steward the network. What started as one engineer's frustration with slow block times became one of the most used high-throughput blockchains, known for low fees and fast finality, and for the growing pains of pushing performance to its limits.
