According to U.Today, meme cryptocurrencies are experiencing significant gains, despite a lackluster market performance and increasing community pessimism. Several meme coins from the top 500 have seen surges of 50-60% in the last 24 hours.
Based Brett (BRETT), the largest meme coin on the Base (BASE) blockchain, has seen a 25% increase in the last 24 hours, making it the fastest-growing cryptocurrency in the top 100 assets by market capitalization. Dogwifhat (WIF), a leading meme coin on the Solana (SOL) blockchain, has seen a 19.7% price increase, with its market cap nearing the $2 billion mark. Pepe (PEPE) has also seen similar gains, breaking through the $5.2 billion valuation.
Other meme coins such as Bonk (BONK) and Floki (FLOKI) have also seen significant growth. Bonk has experienced a 16.7% daily price increase, while Floki has reached a $1.7 billion valuation after a 12.7% price jump. Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) have also seen increases of 8.2-8.3%, solidifying their positions in the top 15 cryptocurrencies by market cap.
The most impressive rallies, however, were seen in the cat-themed coin segment. Meme coins such as Popcat (POPCAT), Mog Coin (MOG), and Michi (MICHI) have seen substantial gains. Popcat's capitalization is nearing $500 million after an unrivaled 60% growth in the last 24 hours. Michi has added 75% and is nearing a $100 million cap. Mog Coin, after a 25.1% price spike, has entered the top 150 cryptocurrencies by market cap, while the popular meme coin Cat in Dog World (MEW) is up by 15%.
