Nonfarm data has failed again! In July, employment unexpectedly decreased by 230,000 jobs, breaking the streak of ongoing expansions. This time, rate-hike expectations for the Fed were directly hit—U.S. Treasury yields fell across the board, and the U.S. dollar index dropped as well.
Gold is loving it, surging straight past the $4,300 level. Last week it jumped more than 7%, its biggest week. China’s central bank hasn’t been idle either: it has continuously added holdings for 21 months, and in July it added another 640,000 ounces. With this setup, safe-haven assets really are paying off.
Things aren’t calm in the Middle East either. The Strait of Hormuz still hasn’t been resolved, and Iran has refused to hold talks with the United States. Oil has already moved above $84. Trump now says it will be handled in a “low-key” manner, aiming to apply economic pressure—but Iran isn’t buying it.
$BTC This round is also quite interesting. When the nonfarm data came out, it was theoretically bearish for the dollar, yet both gold and oil are rising—suggesting that risk-averse sentiment in the market remains high.
Demand related to AI is still booming. SK hynix plans to invest $38.4 billion to build a wafer fab, and Apple is even testing China’s storage chips. These days, if you don’t have some AI angle, it’s hard to even justify going out.

It belongs to the same sector that includes $HYPE and $LIT and $ASTER, with Avantis focusing on trading RWA-related Perps contracts on the Base network.
But context matters: it has already seen a strong wave and hit a historical high at $2.64, then stole the spotlight from $ASTER. After that, AVNT entered a sharp downtrend and is currently trading around $0.08–$0.09, which is about a 96% drop from its peak.
And because AVNT’s market cap is small compared to $HYPE , whose value is over $14B+, AVNT is among the most sensitive and volatile names in this group.
