Haha, everyone, go ahead and sell all #near . Because that’s better for those who are holding. It’d be good if the price corrected a little further. 4.5
Users don’t want to care which chain they’re using.
For example:
You have BTC → want to buy a token on Solana → want to use Ethereum liquidity → but don’t want to bridge yourself, swap for gas, connect 4 wallets, and then handle 5 transactions.
NEAR wants to become the coordination layer behind it all.
That’s Chain Abstraction/Intents.
If this model really succeeds, NEAR doesn’t necessarily have to beat Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, or any other chains.
It can make money by sitting between them.
And that’s a thesis quite different from simply competing on TPS.
By 2026, NEAR is no longer simply an L1 “high TPS, low fees.” The more notable investment thesis is that NEAR could become the execution/liquidity/settlement layer for a multi-chain world and AI agents.
1. What is NEAR actually building? Originally, NEAR Protocol was positioned as a high-performance Layer-1, using Nightshade sharding. Technically, NEAR has: block time about 600 ms finality about 1.2 seconds sharding Proof-of-Stake smart contract very low transaction fees But the point I think is more important right now is that NEAR is shifting its positioning: From “a blockchain L1 competing with Ethereum/Solana” → to infrastructure for chain abstraction + cross-chain execution + AI agents.
