CAN $MANA RETURN TO A $2.5B MARKET CAP?

Bitcoin is on track for its best September ever. This is the same month that Bitcoin closed red in 8 of the 13 years from 2013 to 2025 and still has the worst average return of any month. But something has changed: 2023: +3.91% 2024: +7.29% 2025: +5.16% 2026: +7.33% so far

$LINK just reached its highest price of 2026. The token is up around 12% today and is now more than 2x above its June low. It’s also up about 26% YTD.

A U.S. Senate investigation found something striking about Iran’s crypto activity. Investigators analyzed 846 wallets sanctioned or targeted over links to Iran and its proxies. 84% of them used USDT almost exclusively. The report says USDT has been used to move money around sanctions, support Iran’s shadow banking system and facilitate payments connected to groups such as Hezbollah. Tether says it has already frozen nearly $550M in Iran-linked USDT this year and is cooperating with law enforcement.

Gold is now 26% below its ATH. Bitcoin is down 33%. The gap between the two drawdowns is only 7%.

In the past week: • Hedera-based IDTrust was listed on IBM Cloud, bringing its AI-agent identity infrastructure into IBM’s enterprise distribution network. • Hedera contributed CLPR, a bridgeless cross-ledger protocol, to the Linux Foundation. • @Hedera joined a UK taskforce focused on wholesale digital markets and tokenization. Can the pump be sustained?

@THORChain is questioning why it should be held responsible for processing stolen funds, arguing that it's decentralized and permissionless. But here's something worth remembering. In May 2026, THORChain suffered a $10.7M exploit. Within hours, its validators halted the network to prevent further losses. Trading and withdrawals remained unavailable for roughly FIVE WEEKS, until June 22. Meanwhile, nearly $1.2B from the Bybit hack was routed through THORChain in 2025. So THORChain can halt its network when its own assets are compromised, but is now questioning what responsibility it bears when another platform's stolen funds pass through it.

When Bybit lost $1.5B in February 2025, the exchange kept withdrawals running despite the massive outflow of user funds. Within 10 hours, it had processed over 350,000 withdrawal requests. Bybit then secured $1.23B in ETH through bridge loans, large deposits, and OTC purchases, closing the gap in its reserves within 72 hours. Now Bitget is dealing with a $387.5M hack. Instead of keeping withdrawals open, the exchange suspended them while investigating the breach in its wallet infrastructure. Bitget says its $464M Protection Fund will cover the losses, while Mandiant and SlowMist are helping verify the security of its systems. Withdrawals are scheduled to return gradually between September 28 and October 2. Which exchange do you think handled the situation better?
