Richard Heart has really been busted this time.
Turkey’s Justice Minister Akın Gürlek personally confirmed on October 17 that, during a joint operation in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, on October 14, HEX founder Richard Heart (real name Richard James Schueler) was detained. His wife was taken in too, and three bodyguards were arrested later.
What they found was unbelievable: 15 properties searched, with $7.15 million in cash, 6 cold wallets, 28 luxury watches, 97 pieces of jewelry, 7 guns, 1,400 rounds of ammunition, 29 phones, and 12 computers seized.
The trigger was an Interpol Red Notice issued by Finland in December 2024 over suspected serious tax fraud. In February 2025, he had just dodged the SEC’s $1 billion illegal fundraising lawsuit in the US on jurisdictional grounds—only to get caught by Finland instead. He may have won the lawsuit, but he lost at life.
