A security adviser personally stole crypto—an insider theft straight out of a textbook 🤡 A New York jury has just convicted him: security adviser Spalletta made off with nearly $55 million from Uranium Finance in two attacks in 2021. He faces up to 20 years in prison. Even five years later, he was still tracked down. The blockchain isn’t beyond the law; laundering funds through multiple mixers is useless—data leaves a permanent trail. Anyone thinking of getting into crypto crime should think twice: 20 years behind bars costs a lot more than the ill-gotten gains. $BNB #UraniumFinance #DeFi

This week, the Manhattan Federal Court is set to begin trial. Uranium Finance: Prosecutors say that Maryland cybersecurity consultant Jonathan Spalletta (alias Cthulhon) exploited smart contract vulnerabilities twice in April 2021 to withdraw approximately $1.4 million and $53.3 million from the BNB Chain’s AMM. The funds were later routed through Tornado Cash. From the outset, the defense attacked the question of “whose finger was on the keyboard,” arguing that the attribution had not yet been established. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District, in 2025, has seized assets related to the case worth about $31 million; at present, it is only opening statements, and there is no verdict yet. A DeFi vulnerability case from five years ago is only now truly before a jury today. #UraniumFinance #DeFi #加密执法
