Bybit announced today that its Dubai entity, Bybit Fintech FZE, has obtained a VARA VASP license covering spot trading services. The license is listed as Active in VARA’s public register (issued on 2026-06-20), and theoretically allows it to serve retail, qualified, and institutional clients. But don’t pop the champagne just yet—the company itself acknowledges that it still needs to complete VARA’s go-live process and meet operational requirements before it can actually open for business. It hasn’t said a word about the timeline. Bybit waited three years for this license: it received an MVP license in June 2023 and in-principle approval in September 2024, but both were just paper progress that didn’t allow it to operate. Add the federal SCA license it received in October 2025 (which doesn’t cover Dubai), and its Middle East compliance puzzle is now nearly complete. With 80 million-plus users, the exchange can’t afford to fall behind in the compliance arms race—and the next question is when its derivatives license will be approved. Chief Compliance Officer Peter Loo has already publicly said he wants one. #Bybit #迪拜 #VARA #Compliance

Dubai has once again put its cards on the table. On October 22, Bybit announced that its Dubai entity, Bybit Fintech FZE, had officially obtained a VASP licence from the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), authorising it to offer spot trading. The exchange, which says it serves more than 80 million users worldwide, moved its international headquarters to Dubai in 2022. This licence fills in another piece of its compliance puzzle. The most interesting detail is the scope of the licence: it covers spot trading only, not derivatives. Chief Legal Officer Peter Loo acknowledged that derivatives are the mainstay of Bybit’s global trading business, but said the company must wait for separate VARA approval before offering them in Dubai. In Dubai, the rules are the rules—no matter how large your trading volume, you have to wait your turn. Also in the mix: Kraken’s parent company, Payward, received full market approval from VARA around the same time. Dubai is becoming the main battleground in the “arms race” for exchange licences. In the second half of the compliance race, a licence is your ticket in.#Bybit #迪拜 #VARA #合规 #Spot trading

🇦🇪 Bybit secures a Dubai VARA license, but only spot trading is approved for now On October 22, Bybit officially announced that its Dubai entity, Bybit Fintech FZE, had obtained a VASP license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). The license covers exchange services—in other words, spot trading. A few details worth noting: 🔹 Bybit moved its headquarters to Dubai back in 2022 and received in-principle approval in August 2024, but the formal license was only finalized today 🔹 Derivatives require a separate application, which hasn’t been approved yet. Bybit says it will continue to pursue approval 🔹 The company says it has over 80 million users worldwide. CEO Ben Zhou called this an important step in the company’s regional strategy In the same week, Bitget was also moving forward with its acquisition of a licensed exchange in Thailand, with regulatory approval expected around October 31. Exchanges are increasingly taking a similar approach: instead of relying on a single offshore license to operate everywhere, they’re obtaining local licenses market by market. My take: A license is a good thing, but don’t assume that “getting a license” automatically means “my money is safer.” What really matters is which entity your account is held with. The Dubai license covers users served by the Dubai entity, and this one only covers spot trading. The leveraged futures you trade day to day aren’t covered by this license. So rather than getting excited by the headline, open your account settings and check which entity you have a contract with and which jurisdiction’s rules apply. Would you put more money on an exchange because it got a local license? Or do proof of reserves and withdrawal speed matter more to you? The world’s second-largest exchange is entering the U.S. Why not apply for its own licenses, but instead team up with an established American brokerage? Bybit CEO Ben Zhou confirmed it himself: to enter the U.S., they’ll partner with brokerages like Interactive Brokers (IB), which already have a strong local user base, and go head-to-head with Robinhood. The reason is a tough one to swallow: securing U.S. licenses state by state takes two to three years. By then, startups will be waiting until retirement. Better to wait for the Clarity Act to pass and the SEC to establish a unified federal license—one license for the whole country. Even more pointed was this line from him: “Never having entered the U.S. before is actually an advantage—we have a completely clean record there.” By contrast, its rival Robinhood reported 28.4 million funded customers and $369 billion in platform assets in its Q2 earnings—impressive numbers, but crypto trading revenue plunged 38% year over year to just $100 million. Bybit is choosing to make its move in the U.S. just as its rival’s growth is losing steam. Here’s the million-dollar question: when the army of American retail investors rushes in with their brokerage accounts, will their first purchase be $BTC , or will they grab some altcoins while they’re at it? The market is open in the comments: A) New money will ignite a bull market; B) American retail investors are already numb, and there’s no fresh money coming in. I’ve used Bybit U Card for a long time before I realized you must manually convert USDT into fiat USD.

This lets you avoid a 0.9% currency conversion fee.

🟡 Tested in practice:
Today’s C2C withdrawal exchange rate: 6.66
Bybit actual spending exchange rate: 6.77 (+1.65%)

(After deducting all fees, including a 2% cashback)

🟢 How to convert USDT to fiat USD in advance:

1️⃣ Search the spot USDT/USD trading pair and sell USDT.
(Don’t exchange in the fiat area—there are regional restrictions.)

100 USDT was exchanged for 99.76 USD.

Including slippage and the Bybit spot trading fee of 0.1%, the final loss is 0.24%.

But it avoids the 0.9% automatic conversion fee.

2️⃣ Transfer the USD from the trading account to the funds account.

Then you can use the Bybit Card with your USD (Fiat) balance.
Big talk, pocket-change prize pool Bybit CEO Ben Zhou is set to deliver a global keynote at 3 p.m. on October 13, titled “Make Your Move.” They’ve packed in all four big topics: the evolution of finance, AI, stablecoins and RWA, and security and compliance. And to top it all off, there’s a 5,000 USDT prize pool, with a lucky draw, Q&A, and best-moment contest—all put together with more pomp than a wedding. The whole prize pool is just 5,000 USDT, split among everyone on the platform. That’s probably enough per person to open a 5x leveraged position three times; even after getting liquidated, you might have enough left for a couple of coins to buy a grilled sausage. Exchanges always know exactly where to spend their budget: on making you believe you could be the one who wins. At 3 p.m. on the 13th, will you be waiting on the livestream for your few cents’ worth of giveaway, or watching the candlesticks for a liquidation text? Drop a 1 or 2 in the comments. I’ll post my position first as a cautionary tale. $BTC $ETH $USDT #Bybit #cryptocurrency

Bybit wants to ride the RWA wave. Ben Zhou will host a global livestream on October 13 at 15:00, themed “Make Your Move,” with an exclusive preview of a new product. The official account has announced a 5,000 USDT interactive prize pool, with the focus on four areas: stablecoins, the convergence of RWA and traditional markets, Bybit AI, and regulatory-compliant expansion. By packaging stablecoins, RWA, and AI together, the exchange is sending a clear message: incremental capital needs to move on-chain from off-chain markets. In the window between the speech and the new product launch, sentiment in the RWA sector usually moves first. If trading volume doesn’t follow, the rally may be short-lived. Are you positioning early for RWA, or waiting until after the livestream on the 13th to chase? If you’re already holding, share your entry price. $BTC $ETH $ONDO #Bybit #RWA
