CFTC Files $400M Bitcoin Fraud Case Against Goliath Ventures
The CFTC charged Goliath Ventures and CEO Christopher Delgado over an alleged $397 million crypto trading fraud involving about 1,600 customers. The agency alleged that the defendants used customer money for fictitious payouts and Delgado’s personal spending. Delgado pleaded guilty to related federal charges in June.
SEC Sets Aug. 14 Vote on Proposed Crypto Exemption Framework
The SEC will consider proposing a crypto framework that could let certain projects raise capital without full securities registration. The proposed framework could allow projects to leave SEC oversight after founders no longer actively manage them. The Senate did not advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act before its August recess.
