South Korea's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Lee Hyung-il said the government has decided to delay virtual asset income tax collection by two years until 2029. Lee said obtaining virtual asset transaction data from the United States after 2029 would give the government enough information to tax investors using US exchanges. The government will create and operate a joint public-private working group on digital asset taxation.
