Today could be one of the most important political moments for the U.S. crypto market.

The CLARITY Act is facing a critical Senate procedural vote, and the key number is 60.

Republicans hold 53 Senate seats, meaning the bill needs additional bipartisan support to advance. That is where the uncertainty begins.

Equiti Default +1

But this is not simply a guaranteed rejection.

Senate Republicans released a heavily revised version containing 126 substantive changes, including new ethics provisions, stronger enforcement mechanisms and changes addressing concerns raised by Democrats and the banking industry. President Trump has also agreed to important ethics restrictions.

The Block +1

The problem?

Some Democrats still believe the ethics protections do not go far enough, while banking groups remain concerned about stablecoin rewards and their potential impact on bank deposits. Several senators have also indicated that more negotiations may be needed.

Semafor +1

📉 What happens to Bitcoin?

If the vote fails, I would expect short-term volatility across BTC and major altcoins.

For Bitcoin, the levels I’m watching are:

🔴 $77K — first major support

⚠️ $70K — critical structure

📉 $60K — deeper downside scenario

A break below $70K could accelerate selling pressure and potentially create the kind of market reset that eventually sets up the next major move.

But if the CLARITY Act gets the 60 votes, sentiment could change very quickly.

🔥 The real question isn't “Will it pass?”

It is:

Can lawmakers find the 7+ additional votes needed to push crypto regulation forward? 👀
