OpenAI, the company that owns ChatGPT, stated on Wednesday that it had resolved a bug that allowed a small group of users to view the titles of other users’ conversation histories with the popular chatbot, which regarded as a significant issue.

The CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, addressed this problem on Twitter by revealing that a flaw in the open-source code was to blame for the bug. He apologized and promised that a technical postmortem would be conducted shortly. 

As per reports, OpenAI disabled chat histories on Monday after identifying the bug. But they subsequently enabled again that evening. GPT-4, an update to GPT-3.5, which made obtainable to users through ChatGPT on November 30, released by Microsoft Corp.-backed OpenAI last week. 

OpenAI’s ChatGPT is an AI-powered chatbot meant for offering human-like replies. It achieved popularity and a large user base due to its conversational style of engaging with users.
