Foresight News: Dropbox has announced that its enterprise-oriented Dropbox Advanced plan will adopt a metered storage policy. Previously, the Dropbox Advanced plan used a 'space as needed' policy, which was often exploited for cryptocurrency and Chia mining, unrelated personal storage aggregation, and even resale of storage. These types of customers typically consumed thousands of times more storage than genuine enterprise clients. Under the new metered storage policy, customers purchasing a Dropbox Advanced package with three valid licenses will receive 15TB of shared team storage, with each additional active license granted 5TB of storage space. Dropbox will begin migrating existing customers to the new policy starting November 1st.
