普通人的幣圈故事（二）繼上次被合約狠狠教訓之後，我害怕了嗎？
並沒有。
可能骨子裡就是個賭徒吧，只是進化了。
從一個什麼都不懂的賭徒，進化成一個會看技術分析的賭徒。
那時候還特地花錢買了會員，想說這次要認真學習，不能再像以前一樣亂賭。
結果繳了幾個月的學費，最後發現自己好像什麼都沒學到。
也不能全怪人家，可能是自己不夠認真吧。
那陣子我還在拉麵店打工，誇張到一邊幫客人結帳，一邊盯著手機上的 K 線。
師傅們看我那麼認真，連話都不太敢跟我說。
可能是怕打擾到我，萬一害我輸錢，他們還得負責吧，哈哈。
直到有一天，幣圈發生了一件大事。
LUNA 崩盤。
說真的，那時候我哪知道 LUNA 是什麼東西？
什麼項目、什麼機制、什麼基本面，根本不在乎。
只知道大家都在討論它。
大家說要空，我就跟著空。

繼上次被合約狠狠教訓之後，我害怕了嗎？
並沒有。
可能骨子裡就是個賭徒吧，只是進化了。
從一個什麼都不懂的賭徒，進化成一個會看技術分析的賭徒。
那時候還特地花錢買了會員，想說這次要認真學習，不能再像以前一樣亂賭。
結果繳了幾個月的學費，最後發現自己好像什麼都沒學到。
也不能全怪人家，可能是自己不夠認真吧。
那陣子我還在拉麵店打工，誇張到一邊幫客人結帳，一邊盯著手機上的 K 線。
師傅們看我那麼認真，連話都不太敢跟我說。
可能是怕打擾到我，萬一害我輸錢，他們還得負責吧，哈哈。
直到有一天，幣圈發生了一件大事。
LUNA 崩盤。
說真的，那時候我哪知道 LUNA 是什麼東西？
什麼項目、什麼機制、什麼基本面，根本不在乎。
只知道大家都在討論它。
大家說要空，我就跟著空。
結果槓桿開太大，明明方向看對了，還是虧得一屁股。
後來 LUNA 跌到個位數，我在 Discord 跟朋友說：
「欸，不然我們來抄個底？」
於是拿了 100U 進場，沒想到真的翻了兩倍。
但我怕又把獲利吐回去，趕快賣掉。
那時候真的開心啊。
心裡想著：原來賺錢也沒有這麼難嘛！
結果人就是這樣。
嚐到甜頭之後，總覺得下一次也能複製。
於是我又買回 LUNA。
然後它就一路往下跌。
我不信邪，有零用錢就繼續買，想說總有一天會反彈吧？
直到身上沒錢了，看著價格後面的 0 越來越多，我也終於認清現實。
這次大概真的沒救了。
但故事還沒結束。
有一天，我在學校工讀，突然發現一件奇怪的事。
欸？LUNA 怎麼好像跌不下去了？
不知道為什麼，當下就是有種直覺，覺得好像可以買。
問題是，我已經沒錢了。
於是趕快問朋友：
「欸，你身上還有 U 嗎？」
他說：「我也沒什麼錢，不過可以幫你換個 20U。」
我心想，20U 也行啊！
搞不好哪天變成一塊，老子就還你一百倍！
結果換 U 需要時間，偏偏就在等他的時候，LUNA 開始動了。
我越看越不對勁。
「欸欸欸，快一點啦！」
「真的，快點！它開始漲了！」
好在最後還是趕上了暴漲的前段。
雖然不是最低點，但也算買在不錯的位置。
朋友自己也跟著買了 10U。
接下來發生的事，大概夠我吹一輩子。
20U，變成 1000U。
1000U，又變成 1500U。
那個瞬間，我終於理解自己到底在玩什麼。
這根本就是賭場。
也終於理解，為什麼賭徒明明知道有風險，卻還是戒不掉。
因為錢來得太快了。
真的，太快了。
你辛辛苦苦打工一個月賺的錢，可能還比不上螢幕上幾分鐘跳出來的數字。
那種感覺，真的很難忘。
不過，賭徒的故事通常不會在最高點結束。
後來幣安傳出要下架 LUNA 相關交易，我也開始擔心能不能順利出場。
最後，我只帶著 600 多 U 的獲利離開。
朋友則賺了大概 200U。
對幣圈大佬來說，可能只是零頭。
但對當時還是大學生的我們來說，已經是一筆很大的錢了。
那時候的我覺得，自己好像終於在幣圈贏了一次。
於是，我決定把賺來的錢放到 FTX。
聽說放著就能領 8% 的利息。
不用盯盤、不用開槓桿，錢自己就會長大。
我心想：
這次總算不是在賭了吧？
只是後來才知道……

$LUNA is starting to look interesting here. 👀
I'm buying around $0.0536 using a DCA strategy. If the price drops further, I'll gradually add more.
Why? After a prolonged downtrend, LUNA is showing signs of accumulation, with higher lows forming near its recent support. A breakout above $0.058–$0.060 could open the door for a larger recovery.
I'm not expecting an overnight pump. Building my position gradually while watching whether buyers can defend the $0.050 zone.

I took a look through the development history of both chains. 👇
The old Terraform Labs LUNA core repo effectively ended at v2.12.4 in August 2024, but importantly, 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗜𝗗𝗡'𝗧 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.
The Phoenix Foundation/community picked up the chain and LUNA has since reached v2.20.0.
What surprised me was the difference in the underlying technology stacks today:
🔵 𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗔 𝘃𝟮.𝟮𝟬
Cosmos SDK → 0.50.15
wasmd → 0.54.9
wasmvm → 2.2.8
IBC-Go → 8.8.0
🟡 𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗔 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗖

IBC-Go → 10.5.0
Both currently use CometBFT 0.38.21.
So despite everything #LUNC has been through since 2022, Terra Classic has actually pushed considerably further forward across several major Cosmos/CosmWasm components.
That's quite an achievement for a chain that was effectively left for dead after the collapse.
But it's also worth looking at the other side.
𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗔 𝗜𝗦𝗡'𝗧 𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗗.
It has continued receiving community-led upgrades, including security work. The difference is that development today appears to be operating with far fewer resources than during the TFL era.
Meanwhile, Terra Classic has just completed another mandatory security upgrade: v4.0.1-patch.3 ahead of disclosure of a critical CosmWasm-related vulnerability.
This isn't something to mock LUNA for.
If anything, it demonstrates just how difficult maintaining an independent Layer 1 blockchain really is once the huge company and resources behind it disappear.
And it makes me appreciate how much developers, validators and contributors across BOTH Terra chains have taken on since TFL disappeared.

I took a look through the development history of both chains. 👇
The old Terraform Labs LUNA core repo effectively ended at v2.12.4 in August 2024, but importantly, 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗜𝗗𝗡'𝗧 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.
The Phoenix Foundation/community picked up the chain and LUNA has since reached v2.20.0.
What surprised me was the difference in the underlying technology stacks today:

That's quite an achievement for a chain that was effectively left for dead after the collapse.
But it's also worth looking at the other side.

Meanwhile, Terra Classic has just completed another mandatory security upgrade: v4.0.1-patch.3 ahead of disclosure of a critical CosmWasm-related vulnerability.
This isn't something to mock LUNA for.
If anything, it demonstrates just how difficult maintaining an independent Layer 1 blockchain really is once the huge company and resources behind it disappear.
And it makes me appreciate how much developers, validators and contributors across BOTH Terra chains have taken on since TFL disappeared.

LUNC, USTC, and the original LUNA were part of the Terra blockchain ecosystem. Terra was designed as its own independent Layer-1 blockchain with an algorithmic stablecoin system at its core. UST (now USTC) was meant to stay close to $1 through an automated mint-and-burn relationship with LUNA (now LUNC). When UST traded above $1, the system encouraged minting more UST by burning LUNA; when it traded below $1, it encouraged burning UST to mint LUNA.
This created a feedback loop that worked well during periods of growth and high demand.
For context on volatility and recovery stories: XRP reached an all-time high around $3.84 in early 2018. It faced heavy criticism, an SEC lawsuit labeling aspects of it a security, and a significant price crash.
Many people wrote it off at the time. Price history shows it has recovered substantially from those lows in later cycles, though it has not returned to that exact peak as of now.
LUNA (pre-crash) hit an all-time high of approximately $119 in early April 2022.
Shortly afterward, in May 2022, the UST algorithmic stablecoin lost its peg. This triggered a classic “death spiral”: as confidence collapsed, people rushed to exit UST, the system minted enormous amounts of new LUNA to try to defend the peg, supply exploded into the trillions, and both tokens crashed to fractions of a cent. The original Terra chain continued as Terra Classic (LUNC + USTC), while a new chain (Terra 2.0 with a new LUNA token) was launched via community governance.
Do Kwon, the co-founder of Terraform Labs, has faced serious legal consequences related to the collapse. He pleaded guilty to fraud charges and was sentenced to 15 years in prison in December 2025.
Whether the failure was solely his responsibility or the result of design flaws in algorithmic stablecoins under extreme stress is still debated in the community—but the economic damage was real and severe for many holders.
Today, LUNC trades at a tiny fraction of a cent (roughly $0.00005 range as of late September 2026), with a circulating supply still in the trillions even after ongoing community burn efforts. USTC remains depegged. The Terra Classic community continues development through governance proposals, transaction tax burns, security upgrades, and discussions around reactivating or redesigning the market module that once linked USTC and LUNC.
There are ongoing ideas for gradual “repeg” mechanisms, collateral experiments, and improved stability tools, but none of these restore the original pre-crash economics overnight.
Important educational points to keep in mind:
• Algorithmic stablecoins that rely purely on a sister token (without sufficient over-collateralization or external reserves) have repeatedly failed under stress. The Terra case is one of the largest examples.
• After the 2022 hyperinflation event, the token supply of LUNC became extremely large. Returning to the old $119 price would require either massive, sustained demand that far exceeds current levels or an enormous reduction in supply—neither of which is guaranteed.
• Buying USTC and LUNC together can create correlated demand in the short term because the community still views them as linked, and some proposed mechanisms would restore an economic relationship between them. However, correlation is not the same as a guaranteed upward price cycle.
• Crypto markets are highly speculative. Past performance (whether XRP’s recovery or LUNA’s rise to $119) does not predict future results. What goes down can stay down for a very long time, or recover only partially.
If you choose to hold or accumulate LUNC, USTC, or the newer LUNA, do so with a clear understanding of the history, the design risks that led to the 2022 collapse, the current supply dynamics, and the fact that these remain high-risk, community-driven assets. If you choose to hold or accumulate LUNC, USTC, or the newer LUNA, do so with a clear understanding of the history, the design risks that led to the 2022 collapse, the current supply dynamics, and the fact that these remain high-risk, community-driven assets. Diversify, never invest more than you can afford to lose, and base decisions on research rather than hope that “what goes down must come up” to previous all-time highs.

LUNC, USTC, and the original LUNA were part of the Terra blockchain ecosystem. Terra was designed as its own independent Layer-1 blockchain with an algorithmic stablecoin system at its core. UST (now USTC) was meant to stay close to $1 through an automated mint-and-burn relationship with LUNA (now LUNC). When UST traded above $1, the system encouraged minting more UST by burning LUNA; when it traded below $1, it encouraged burning UST to mint LUNA.
This created a feedback loop that worked well during periods of growth and high demand.
For context on volatility and recovery stories: XRP reached an all-time high around $3.84 in early 2018. It faced heavy criticism, an SEC lawsuit labeling aspects of it a security, and a significant price crash.
Many people wrote it off at the time. Price history shows it has recovered substantially from those lows in later cycles, though it has not returned to that exact peak as of now.
LUNA (pre-crash) hit an all-time high of approximately $119 in early April 2022.
Shortly afterward, in May 2022, the UST algorithmic stablecoin lost its peg. This triggered a classic “death spiral”: as confidence collapsed, people rushed to exit UST, the system minted enormous amounts of new LUNA to try to defend the peg, supply exploded into the trillions, and both tokens crashed to fractions of a cent. The original Terra chain continued as Terra Classic (LUNC + USTC), while a new chain (Terra 2.0 with a new LUNA token) was launched via community governance.
Do Kwon, the co-founder of Terraform Labs, has faced serious legal consequences related to the collapse. He pleaded guilty to fraud charges and was sentenced to 15 years in prison in December 2025.
Whether the failure was solely his responsibility or the result of design flaws in algorithmic stablecoins under extreme stress is still debated in the community—but the economic damage was real and severe for many holders.
Today, LUNC trades at a tiny fraction of a cent (roughly $0.00005 range as of late September 2026), with a circulating supply still in the trillions even after ongoing community burn efforts. USTC remains depegged. The Terra Classic community continues development through governance proposals, transaction tax burns, security upgrades, and discussions around reactivating or redesigning the market module that once linked USTC and LUNC.
