Binance Japan: Migration to a New Local Platform for Existing Global Binance Account Users in Japan

Published on 2023-08-15 02:01

Fellow Binancians,

We are pleased to announce that users in Japan who have global Binance accounts can now apply for migration to a new dedicated local platform through the new KYC (ID verification) process. Please complete KYC by 2023-11-20 to start using the new local platform from December onward.

With regard to the global platform you are currently using, please note the current services will be gradually discontinued by 2023-11-30. This means from December 2023 onward, global Binance accounts held by local Japan resident users will be set to “withdrawal-only mode” and all other functions will be restricted. Unpermitted assets under Binance Japan will be automatically converted to BTC, and users will be notified of the detailed schedule separately.

Currently, users in Japan with global Binance accounts can only view Binance products and services in the English language settings due to the local regulatory reasons. Please refrain from changing the language settings to ensure seamless access. By selecting English (/en) language, users will be able to continue viewing all products and services as well as balances (including positions) under the global Binance accounts. Please note that if you switch to Japanese (/ja) or English (Japan) (/en-JP) language settings, some products may not be displayed properly.

If you have any questions, please visit the FAQ page, where you can find information on a range of relevant topics, or reach out to customer support via in-app CS chat.

Thanks for your support!
