#ostiumloandisputehearingsetinnyfederalcourt ⚖️ OSTIUM’S $15M LOAN DISPUTE REACHES NEW YORK FEDERAL COURT A legal dispute involving Ostium, an on-chain perpetual futures platform, is heading into a key hearing today in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The case, ESS Frontier LLC v. Ostium Foundation et al., concerns an alleged $15 million loan dispute and requests related to asset restrictions and arbitration. Court records show the case was filed on September 4, 2026. What happened? According to court filings and reporting, the dispute follows a July security incident involving Ostium, which reportedly resulted in losses of about $23.75 million. ESS Frontier, which is pursuing claims assigned from lender Minghui Zheng, sought emergency relief from the court. A temporary restraining order and other emergency measures were subsequently contested by the defendants. 🏛️ TODAY’S HEARING Judge Lewis A. Kaplan ordered that the court will hear arguments on the pending motions on: September 17, 2026 2:00 p.m. ET Courtroom 21B The court may also take evidence from relevant witnesses. Importantly, the court previously stayed the September 5 emergency order pending further order, so today's hearing does not itself mean that either side has won the underlying dispute. Why crypto markets are watching For traders and DeFi participants, the situation could become relevant to how the market evaluates: • Counterparty and lending risk • Platform liquidity after security incidents • Legal enforceability of crypto-related financing • Asset-freeze and arbitration mechanisms • Risk management for leveraged trading platforms There is no court ruling here establishing wrongdoing by Ostium; the allegations and legal positions remain part of an ongoing dispute. Bottom line: The September 17 hearing could provide additional clarity on the immediate legal and asset-restriction questions, but it should not be interpreted as a final resolution of the broader dispute. $ONE $AVA $NEAR
