Price isn't the first thing I look at. Neither is the chart.
Before buying any token, I check Five numbers that tell me whether I'm investing in an opportunity or becoming someone else's exit liquidity.
Here's my checklist.
1️⃣ Circulating Supply:
This tells you how many tokens are actually available in the market today.
A low circulating supply can make a token appear stronger than it really is.
Always ask:
How much supply is still waiting to enter the market?
2️⃣ Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV):
Market Cap only values the circulating supply.
FDV values every token that will eventually exist.
A project with a $500M Market Cap but a $10B FDV may still face years of supply expansion.
Ignoring FDV is one of the biggest mistakes retail investors make.
3️⃣ Token Unlock Schedule:
Every unlock introduces additional supply.
Ask yourself:
▶️ When is the next unlock?
▶️ How many tokens will be released?
▶️ Who receives them?
Understanding unlocks helps explain why many tokens struggle to sustain rallies.
4️⃣ Insider Allocation:
Not all holders entered at the same price.
Look at allocations for:
▶️ Team
▶️ Venture Capital funds
▶️ Advisors
▶️ Foundation
▶️ Community
Ownership concentration matters.
If a small group controls a significant portion of supply, their actions can influence the market.
5️⃣ Protocol Revenue:
Price can be driven by hype.
Long-term value is often supported by real economic activity.
Ask:
▶️ Is the protocol generating fees?
▶️ Are users actually using the product?
▶️ Is revenue growing over time?
A token without sustainable demand eventually depends on new buyers to support its valuation.
🔰 My Personal Rule:
If I can't answer these five questions, I don't buy.
Simple.
Charts help me decide "When" to enter.
These five numbers help me decide "Whether" I should enter at all.
Most investors spend hours searching for the next 100x token.
Very few spend 15 minutes understanding what they're actually buying.
That difference separates informed investing from speculation.
