Odaily Planet Daily News FTX and its affiliates oppose the extension of court mediation for the settlement talks of the bankrupt cryptocurrency lender Genesis. In a recent court filing, FTX said that although it is the main creditor of Genesis, it was not invited to participate in the court-appointed mediation in May, which involved Genesis, its parent company Digital Currency Group and creditor Gemini Trust Co. The bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange also opposed a motion filed by Genesis Global that attempted to value the claims of FTX debtors at $0.00, claiming that it is the largest creditor in Genesis' bankruptcy protection proceedings, with a claim value of up to $3.9 billion. On the other hand, Genesis believes that throwing out FTX's claims is essential to avoid undue delays in the timing and amount of creditor distributions and to quickly seek confirmation of the Chapter 11 plan. FTX's application adds more than a dozen other individual Genesis creditors to the objection to the extension of mediation. (Cryptonews)
