Galxe: Site fully restored, funding recovery plan in progress
Web3 credential data network Galxe issued a document on the X platform stating that the website has been fully restored and will continue to strengthen security.
Galxe said that on October 6, an unidentified person contacted its domain name service provider Dynadot, posing as an authorized member of Galxe and using forged documents to bypass security procedures. The imposter then gained unauthorized access to the domain account and used the account to redirect users to a fake website and sign transactions that embezzled user funds.
Galxe said: “This incident only affected our domains and front-end applications. All Galxe smart contracts and technical systems are safe and protected. It is estimated that approximately 1,120 users who interacted with the malicious website were affected, approximately $270,000 was stolen."
In addition, Galxe said: “We are actively working with legal enforcement and third-party experts to develop a fund recovery plan. We will ensure that support is provided to everyone affected. Once a complete list of transactions is available, users will be notified of next steps.”
