The Office of the Attorney General of the Bahamas announced the arrest of former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) by the Royal Bahamas Police Force, according to a statement released by the Bahamas Attorney General Ryan Pinder KC. SBF was arrested after receiving official notification from the United States that it had filed criminal charges against SBF and may seek his extradition. The document said that based on the notification received and the material provided, it was appropriate for the Attorney General to seek the arrest and detention of SBF under the country's Extradition Act. When a formal extradition request is made, The Bahamas intends to process it expeditiously and in accordance with Bahamian law and its treaty obligations with the United States.
