🚨 Bitmine now holds 6.03M ETH (~4.9% of supply), signaling major institutional accumulation. This level of treasury concentration could reduce circulating liquidity and influence long-term price dynamics. BITMINE IS CLOSING IN ON ITS 5% ETH SUPPLY TARGET! #Bitmine isn’t slowing down its #Ethereum accumulation. The company reportedly added another 12,532 ETH worth around $31.67 million last week, pushing its total holdings to a massive 6,028,946 ETH, valued at approximately $15.24 billion. That puts Bitmine’s stash at around 4.94% of ETH’s total supply. And here’s the interesting part: it’s reportedly just 77,442 $ETH away from reaching its 5% accumulation target. At this scale, even another relatively small purchase could bring that milestone within reach. The big question now is whether Bitmine will hit its target soon --- or continue accumulating beyond it. With another 200,000 ETH, BitMine would own 5% of Ethereum’s supply. It currently holds 5.85 million ETH, worth $14.27 billion. This isn’t just accumulating coins—it’s trying to become Ethereum’s shadow whale. With 5% of the supply in its hands, the circulating supply would shrink significantly. If ETH really takes off, shorts won’t even have a chance to get out. On the other hand, selling a position this large would take time, so don’t expect it to dump its holdings anytime soon. $ETH #BitMine #Ethereum

The biggest corporate $ETH buyer just told the market when it will stop. At TOKEN2049 Singapore, Tom Lee said BitMine will halt ETH purchases once it reaches 5% of supply. Its latest filing shows 6,016,414 ETH, about 4.9% of roughly 122.1M ETH. The numbers behind the cap: - BitMine needs only about 100,000 more ETH to hit 5%. Lee says that takes 6-7 weeks at the current pace. - That's roughly $250-270M of final buying at current prices. After that, no more capital raises to buy ETH. - Holdings can still grow through staking rewards, so Lee now says BitMine could sell staking rewards to stay under the cap. In August, he said there was no reason to sell and that 5% might go higher. ETH reportedly dropped about 5% on the news, and that makes sense. For months, the market had a reliable buyer absorbing supply. Now that buyer has an end date. Two more things to watch: - One third-party estimate puts BitMine's unrealized ETH losses near $4.5B. That's not a company figure, but it shows how much the treasury rides on price. - Selling staking rewards turns a buyer into a small, steady seller. Small, but not zero. The fair counterpoint: a cap shows discipline. It removes the risk of endless share dilution to buy more ETH, and 6M ETH staked long-term is still supply locked away from the market. Was BitMine's buying holding ETH up, or will the market barely notice when it stops? Like and follow for treasury company news without the cheerleading. #Ethereum #BitMine

#Bitmine #Ethereum 🐋 BitMine Nears the Finish Line: Aggressive Ethereum Buying Spree Could End in Just 6 Weeks The largest corporate holder of Ethereum is approaching its self-imposed cap. BitMine Immersion Technologies Chairman Tom Lee stated that the company will stop purchasing $ETH once its holdings reach 5% of the coin's total supply. 📊 Key Facts and Figures: Current Holdings: As of October 4, BitMine holds 6,016,414 ETH (~4.9% of the total supply of 122.1 million ETH). Remaining Amount: Only about 88,586 ETH (or approximately $221 million at a price of $2,500) is needed to reach the limit. Available Resources: The company has $643 million in cash and securities, so there is more than enough liquidity to complete the strategy. ⏳ What Is the Timeline? The last disclosed purchasing rate was 15,112 ETH per week. At this pace, BitMine will reach the 5% mark in approximately 5.9 weeks—meaning by mid-November 2026. (According to Lookonchain data from October 7, the company may have already purchased an additional 12,500 ETH via BitGo, reducing the remaining balance to ~76,086 ETH and accelerating the process). 🔄 What Comes Next? Staking Replaces Purchasing Once the capacity for open-market purchases is exhausted due to the 5% limit, the focus will shift to staking income: As of October 4, BitMine had already staked 5.07 million ETH (~84% of its holdings), generating an estimated $363 million in annual revenue. If the entire balance were staked, annual revenue at a 2.63% yield could rise to $431 million. ⚠️ The main challenge for the company: Staking rewards will continuously increase the amount of $ETH on the balance sheet. This means that staking itself will push BitMine’s share above the 5% threshold. The company will have to either leave a "buffer" when making purchases or sell the staking rewards to avoid exceeding the established limit. {future}(ETHUSDT)

Bitmine sets a 5% cap on ETH accumulation; it has not announced a sell-off I’ll lower my expectations for Bitmine’s continued long-term ETH buying, but I won’t interpret “we’ll stop buying at 5%” as meaning it has already started selling off its holdings. For ETH holders, the next step is to check actual purchases and where staking rewards are going, rather than continuing to treat Bitmine as a buyer with no endpoint. On October 7, Tom Lee said at TOKEN2049 that Bitmine would stop adding to its holdings once they reached 5% of the ETH supply; the company’s website also described this as a hard cap that day. He said it was still about 100,000 ETH short of the target. This is a plan for when the threshold is reached, not an announcement that buying had already stopped that day. According to the company’s October 5 announcement, as of October 4 it held 6,016,414 ETH, about 4.9% of the supply, and had still bought 15,112 ETH over the previous week. These figures predate the statement about stopping purchases and cannot be treated as evidence of continued buying after the statement. The implication is that one source of steady buying could diminish in the future, not that its existing holdings will immediately become selling pressure. But “stop buying” also doesn’t mean “never sell”: according to Cointelegraph’s recap, Lee previously said that to avoid exceeding 5%, the company might sell ETH earned from staking. That is a possible future arrangement, not a sell order that has already been executed. Over the next week, I’ll check the company’s new disclosures for actual purchases, changes in holdings, and how staking rewards are handled. An increase in holdings alone isn’t enough to prove that ETH was bought with cash; nor can the cap be used to calculate a definite date when purchases will stop. If the company raises the cap and discloses continued purchases, I’ll raise my expectations for this source of buying pressure. If net selling occurs, I’ll distinguish between sales of staking rewards and reductions in existing holdings before reassessing selling pressure. Changes by a single buyer still cannot substitute for the supply and demand dynamics of the entire market. #以太坊 #Bitmine #Institutional Funds

#Bitmine is approaching the 5% hard cap, and Tom Lee’s buying machine is counting down! BitMine now holds about 6.02 million $ETH , accounting for roughly 4.9% of Ethereum’s total supply. 5% is the hard cap; based on a total supply of 122.1 million, the ceiling is about 6.105 million. In other words, with only about 89,000 ETH left, this company will have to stop. Since launching its ETH Treasury Strategy in June 2025, BitMine has been buying continuously for more than 60 weeks, every week. A lot of its positions were scooped up around the $1,500 level. Based on a weighted estimate of public purchase records, the average cost is about $3,324, with cumulative investment approaching $20 billion. But ETH is only around $2,610 now. This batch of ETH is worth about $15.7 billion, with an unrealized loss of more than $700 per coin and an overall paper loss of about $4.3 billion, or more than 21%. In other words, #TomLee is not just talking bullishly; he is buying with real money in a bear market, and has become the most stable, mechanical spot buyer of ETH over the past year or so. But he himself said on stage that they have been buying throughout the bear market, providing downside demand for ETH, and now they are about to stop. In my view, what really matters is not that $4.3 billion paper loss, but this: the most stable, mechanical spot buying force is about to disappear. The real question next is: after BitMine reaches 5%, who will take the next baton?

Tom Lee: We currently hold more than 6 million ETH. BitMine will STOP buying ETH once it reaches its hard cap of 5%. We only need to buy around 100,000 more ETH to reach 5%. The original plan was to take 5 years to reach this goal, but BitMine has managed to accumulate that much ETH in just 1 year—and most of it happened during the bear market, when hardly anyone wanted to buy ETH. BitMine was the opposite: we were very happy to buy ETH at prices as low as $1,600. Tom Lee calls 5% BitMine’s “hard cap” because it is the optimal level for shareholder value. This also means that after reaching 5%, as the total ETH supply continues to grow through staking rewards, BitMine will not keep buying more just to maintain exactly a 5% ownership stake. #TomLee #bitmine

Ethereum’s biggest “steady buyer” said it himself today: no more buying. In his keynote at TOKEN2049 in Singapore today, Tom Lee announced that BitMine is capping its ETH holdings at 5% of the circulating supply: “That’s a hard cap. We’re not gonna own more than 5%.” A few public figures: 1) BitMine currently holds 6.016 million ETH, about 4.9% of the network’s total supply, worth approximately $15.5 billion—just about 100,000 ETH shy of the cap; 2) At its recent pace of accumulating about 100,000 ETH per week, it will hit the limit in six or seven weeks; 3) The company also has $643 million in cash and marketable securities, and about 85% of its ETH is staked. My take: There are two sides to this. The bullish side is Lee’s reasoning: once the cap is reached, there’s no need to raise more capital to buy coins, and the story shifts to staking cash flow and stock buybacks. The bearish side is that the market will lose its biggest source of steady demand, which has accumulated ETH like clockwork every week since June 2025. ETH fell about 5% intraday today, hitting its lowest level since September 20, and this shift in expectations is surely a factor. In the second act of the digital asset treasury company story, it’s not about how fast they can add to their holdings, but whether they can turn the coins they hold into real cash flow. $ETH 🚨 BITMINE COULD SOON STOP BUYING ETH Ethereum may be about to lose one of its most consistent buyers. Tom Lee, Chairman of BitMine, says the company will be “done stacking” ETH once it reaches 5% of Ethereum’s total supply. 📊 Current position: • ~6.02M ETH held • ~4.9% of Ethereum’s supply • Only ~89K ETH needed to reach the 5% target • BitMine has been buying ETH consistently since June 2025 🎯 Once the 5% threshold is reached, BitMine says it won’t accumulate beyond that level. The big question for the market: What happens to ETH demand when one of its biggest corporate buyers stops accumulating? 👀 Will other institutions step in—or will this reduce a major source of buying pressure? 📌 ETH investors should be watching this closely. #Bitmine #Ethereum

Tom Lee, Chairman of BitMine, says the company will be “done stacking” ETH once it reaches 5% of Ethereum’s total supply.

📊 Current position:
• ~6.02M ETH held
• ~4.9% of Ethereum’s supply
• Only ~89K ETH needed to reach the 5% target
• BitMine has been buying ETH consistently since June 2025

🎯 Once the 5% threshold is reached, BitMine says it won’t accumulate beyond that level.

The big question for the market:

What happens to ETH demand when one of its biggest corporate buyers stops accumulating? 👀

Will other institutions step in—or will this reduce a major source of buying pressure?

📌 ETH investors should be watching this closely.
