O $BTC goes up and the P/L appears positive. This still doesn’t mean the result has been realized.
Open P/L tracks the outcome of the lots that remain exposed to the market. As long as the position is open, this number will keep changing with the price.
Realized P/L records the result of the parts that have actually been closed, considering the recorded costs.
Mixing the two can make a momentary gain seem like a result that’s already been finalized.
