$BTC really caught the shorts at the wrong time. I was watching Bitcoin around $76K and didn't expect it to move this quickly. BTC pushed from around $77.9K to above $80.5K, giving us a solid 4.7% move. And the liquidations tell a big part of the story. More than $247M in crypto shorts were liquidated between Sept. 17 and 18, including roughly $66M in BTC shorts. U.S. spot BTC ETFs also turned back to net inflows after two sessions of outflows. BTC first held the $76K area, then broke back above $78K. Once the shorts started getting squeezed, forced buying added even more fuel and BTC pushed through $80K. Now I’m not rushing to call this a full breakout yet. The key level for me is still $80K. If $BTC can stay above it and build support there, that would be a much healthier sign.
