WHY IS USDT DROPPING IN VENEZUELA WHILE THE BCV DOLLAR KEEPS RISING
USDT is going down, but why? Well, there are different factors: "The catastrophe" •The earthquake of June 24, 2026 has directly impacted the behavior of USDT in the country. Although the downward trend had already been underway since the rejection of 800VES/USDT occurred due to prior market dynamics, the national emergency introduced forced economic factors that accelerated the movement: •Flow of humanitarian aid and emergency remittances: The arrival of international rescue funds, as well as the massive and desperate sending of remittances from abroad to support affected family members, has flooded the local market with foreign exchange and cryptoassets, putting downward pressure on the rate.
Binance enabled an emergency fund of 3 MILLION USDT for Venezuelans affected, and it also waived P2P fees up to July 2
