Here is what CFTC Chair Mike Selig said:
1. Crypto will get clear market structure rules regardless of whether Congress passes the Clarity Act or not.
2. Trump fired anti-crypto Gary Gensler to make the US the crypto capital of the world.
3. The CFTC is considering rules to allow crypto exchanges to offer leverage and margin trading.
4. The CFTC already has proposals ready and will use its existing authority if needed to create a crypto framework.
5. He’s optimistic the Clarity Act still passes the Senate (vote set for Sept. 15).
6. The Trump Administration has already delivered wins (GENIUS Act, clearer securities vs. commodities lion). More clarity is coming.
7. Clear rules are coming so the US can lead and keep innovation onshore.
Bottom line = US is GIGA bullish on crypto.
